I got mine in the beginning of the week, but somehow managed to not touch it until last night. I'm very happy with it so far, the pilot arc is nice, and cuts smooth and quick. Only downside was the stupid twist lock 30a plug, everything I own is a 3 prong 50a. Easy enough to swap though.

Got mine in and switched the plug to match the rest of the tools in the garage. Then added a quick connect to the regulator/filter, set it at 60psi and tested it out. Here's a cut on some scrap 3/8" plate and a spring perch I cut off an 8.8. This was my first time using one, so I need to get a feel for speed and material thickness, but overall it worked great.

I bought the ltp5000d for $299 and It did take it's sweet time processing and finally shipped. It should be here tomorrow I figured it's cheap enough and has good enough reviews to give it a shot.

Jham, you mentioned using a quick connect on the regulator. How did you adapt the regulator to 1/4" thread for the quick connect fitting. Seems the regulator threads, and the enclosed fittings are a slightly smaller size.

I received mine yesterday, upgraded the plug, and just need to get the air supply setup before trying mine. Seems like a decent unit from appearance and build.

cwlo - There wasn't any adapting there was muscle and rector seal. Figured it was a cheapo regulator, so if it didn't work out I wouldn't lose too much. But everything is leak free and working fine.

Thanks Jham,

I will do the same. The thought popped in my mind when I was threading it, but my instinct overruled, and I stopped. You do have a point about it being cheap...didn't think that far!

Newegg is listing the LT5000D, not the pilot arc LTP5000D listed on Amazon Lighting Deals

Any one know what plug this ships with? Is it a L6-30? Looks like it in the pic but not close enough to tell for sure. I've got a three prong range outlet in the shop for my welder, so either need to change that, add another outlet, or change what's on the plasma cutter....

Mine shipped- I want to be ready to fire it up!

Not sure of the specifics, maybe it was mentioned earlier, but it's a twist lock 3 prong plug.

Is it worth the extra $50 for the pilot arc version?

Yes, absolutely. I bought the pilot arc version (usually $465 or so at HD) during that sale. Cut up a washing machine shell through the coating and some rusted and oily 1/4" plate like no one's business. Best (tool) purchase all year.
