Appreciate the help, finally got a quote on a 40x60x16 with one large door and a personnel door. Insulated, installed, and concrete I was told would be around $36,000. Does this sound reasonable? I know in the end mine will be a little higher due to 6" where the semi drive through bay will be and the addition of a couple of roll up doors.

Thanks guys,

Derek

That sounds like a good price. I am looking at a 45 x 60 with 20 ft lean to with 16ft eave height and I am going to be around 45k all in.

Sounds like a great deal. I paid 23K for the building, not including front door, 6K for concrete which half was already there, and 10K to put it up.

Not sure why the pics are not coming up but here is the link to my build. I'll look into the pictures when I get a second. Some are coming up.

Main reason we didn't go with red iron is once the building was up to finish off the inside we would have to build a frame wall anyway to put sheetrock or plywood up. It was easier to route the electrical and we could go with better insulation instead of the standard that goes with metal buildings. The entire building to be framed and sealed in (not including concrete) was around 10K give or take.
I believe it was around $2500 for the roof trusses delivered, $2600 for the 2 roll up doors with electric openers, between $5-$6 for everything else, we shopped around and got materials at a discount for buying in bulk. I believe most came from home depot and they delivered it for free.

Yeah, I'm actually sales manager at a lumber supply store, so building the extra wall wont really kill me, I just like the steel myself. Plus I'll be doing most of the interior framing myself. This will definitely give my girlfriend an idea of what I want though.

I don't blame you for wanting the red iron. I've got more pics to upload from some work we finished this weekend I'll get them added to my build thread tonight.

I built this 42 x 60 Morton in 2011. I put a living area in 1/2 of it. 2 bedrooms, 2 full baths, kitchen, family room. I vaulted the ceiling though out. Being that I stepped the foundation. The living area is 11' and garage half is just under 14.

nice looking home and nice boat!

Where are you located? (adding at least a state in your profile is helpful if you ever ask any location-specific questions). Any chance you could share what something like that costs in your area?

Mine is a stick built, 2"X6" walls, hydronic heat and fully insulated and dry walled. The left side of the building (42'X40') is the finished side. The right side is "cold" storage, not heated but the floor is insulated.
The siding is cement board siding and the trim is aluminum and PVC so there is no maintainance.
The interior ceiling height is 9' except the main work area where I vaulted the ceiling for a four post lift.

Thats a nice looking building. Morton does a great job but you pay for it.
