-Got the garage door working again. Had a problem a few months ago, and the door opener stopped working, the chain broke, it was such an old opener that I wasn't able to find a replacement, and it was only a 0.25 hp motor, so I decided to upgrade - better removes, an keypad for the exterior, and the safety sensor to prevent injury at the opening. Anyway, life was good for about 2 - 3 months, and then all of a sudden the door would not open. I looked at the pulleys, looked at the cables, and then went to look at the torsion springs, but didn't know how my system worked - thanks for a five minute YouTube search, and a 3 minute video I was off to the races. Reset my spring tension, had the door opening and closing easily, then re mounted the hardware for that attaches the door to the opener and boom, success...I totally don't understand why more people don't do things on their own. Had I called a repair person, it would've been a couple hundred bucks.
Well, I suppose if I had more money, I would've called someone, but necessity is the best motivator. Hope you all have a great rest of the weekend.
