Kysor Johnson Horizontal Band Saw - $500 (Goochland)


Kysor Johnson model "J" horizontal band saw. The saw still works well, but it could use a facelift and I don't have the time to do it. It has a 1 Hp single phase 220V motor on it now, but I also have the original 3 phase motor and controls as well. Also shown in the pictures is a side table that bolts to the cut-off side of the saw. The saw also comes with a submersible coolant pump. Bring a thumb drive along, I have a bunch of part info and a manual for it on my computer. The saw will fit in a standard pickup truck bed, but I do not have any means of picking it up to load it; you will have to make those arrangements yourself. Need it out of my garage, I have too many projects going on already. $500.00

80-gallon Air Compressor - $125 OBO (West Palmdale, CA)

Good deal for anyone who knows how to work on compressors. He says it has a small leak somewhere in the compressor area but still able to build up pressure.

"80-gallon Air Compressor. The compressor part needs repair because it leaks. The motor runs fine and it fills the tank with 150 pounds of air.
Motor is 220 volt. The pressure shut-off switch and pressure regulator work great.

Lista/Vidmar Rolling Tool Box - $250 (Lancaster)

I don't think he realizes he has a Lista tool box. You don't see this size come up very often, it's a great size.


Mechanics rolling tool box. 28" tall 30" wide 28" deep. 6 long drawers on bearings pull out all the way even when heavily loaded with your tools. Cabinet is very heavy to keep from any tipping. Rolls easy on large locking casters that hold in place when you don't want it to roll so easy.

Related to the box I listed yesterday, here's an MBC roller set with tools (nothing special in the set, but beats a kick in the head) for $150 in San Carlos CA.

MBC is a great name, and supplied a lot of the tool trucks with their boxes. I'll bet dollars to doughnuts that top box is a SnapOn in all but name. I have an older MBC roller bottom and it's great.

Who knows, I've seen a lot of his stuff listed for over six months and seen some of his things listed for over a year or more especially his bandsaws.
Over the years when I buy or sell something on craigslist, his name always from comes up from other people and always I usually hear the same response from people who tried to buy something from him. They all say avoid and don't trust him.

He doesn't care about what he sells and hides problems. He also tries to hide his identity by not saying he's in Bell Gardens and instead lists as BG or somewhere else. You can always tell it's him with a white trailer or chainlink fence in the background.

Sorry to have brought this up, this thread is about making aware of good deals for GJ members throughout the USA and not about some flipper in LA.

Looking forward to seeing more posts about good deals out there and Larry you do find some very good deals in the SF Bay area. Cheers

Sure looks like an older Snap-on box. Is is stamped on back with model number and where it was made? Nice find.

If you look at the first pic, in the top left corner the 'MBC' logo is there. If they were reselling it for SnapOn it would have their logo in the same spot.

I emailed the seller yesterday about his previous box and we had a good chat-- his dad was an aircraft mechanic and he wanted the boxes to go to someone who would appreciate them. A GJ member would be the perfect one to get this set.

Snap On boxes were made by MBC which stands for The “Metal Box & Cabinet" out of Chicago. MBC was a private label company that made a lot of the Snap On boxes over the early years and I think they also made boxes for Mac tools and Proto back in the day.

I'm sure you're right but the reason I asked is Snap-on boxes are usually stamped with a model number and serial number as well as Snap-on, the city, st and year it was made. I was just curious if this box was also stamped but with a different manufacturer. And yes, I realize it could be made in IL but stamped WA ;)
