Hey all I have a bunch of C3 stuff and picked up the grinder and the jigsaw this weekend on CL for what I thought was a decent deal $65. The only problem is the grinder was missing the handle and the guard. The guy said he had them but he needed to find them so hopefully I will get them but if not I'm trying to figure out what to do. The handle was no problem as I just pulled one of a cheapo HF grinder. Was going to do the same for the guard but the opening is way to small. Anyone know if its possible to get this part or know of another grinder that has about the same size opening that I could order a replacement for?

Thanks! It sounds like I should wait till they're available on Sears Outlet.com.

Well, I wouldn't say that. I may have misspoken. I just went outside to try it out again. It's certainly bright enough. The thing with this light is that it's not a maglight that you can focus to a small area. This light lights up a wide area. I have a two car garage and with the lights off, it lights up the whole garage fairly well instead of what's only right in front of you (brighter at the center and dimmer the farther out you go, of course). The center is definitely bright enough for most any general purpose, but it's not a high powered spotlight. It would also make a great light in a storm if the power goes out as it will light up the whole room. I just tested it against a regular LED flashlight I have that I always considered to be very bright and the C3 light is much brighter. I guess since the light is more dispersed that it made me think it wasn't as bright. In any case, I'm very pleased with it and it will definitely get some use here.

Agreed with fras_auto, I've been using these tools for years, and some like the 1/2" impact have proven worth their weight in silver at least, maybe not gold... :)
I'm no Craftsman fanboy by any means, but their C3 line has really proven a great value.

How's it match up to Porter-Cable stuff? I recently saw a PC 6 tool combo kit for $210. 18V, lithium -- drill, impact, recip, circ saw, multi tool, flashlight, USB charger, 3 batteries, charger, bag.

Looks like I scored the 6 piece Lithium Ion combo for $165 from SearsOutlet.com!!! Woohoo! I'll just sell off my old C3 tools and will have all new upgraded tools with the lithium ion battery all for under $100!

Oh and some C3 tools have gone discontinued, so check your local Sears for tools that end in price of .88. I got the small LED light for $10 and the Jigsaw for $50. Sweet !!

C3 dudes, I am asking for your help. None of the Sears Outlet stores near me have this tool. I have been looking for this and was wondering if someone would be willing to go get one for me and ship it to me. I would be happy to send funds via PayPal or money order.

I'm not seeing this at craftsman.com or searsoutlet.com. I'll keep an eye out for one, but I think your best bet at this point would be eBay or Craigslist.

There is one at $54.99 in Poplar Bluff, MO which is small town where
GJ member . . . bigbuba . . . is located.

Send him a PM to see what he can do.

I saw one at the local Hometown store last Saturday. If you haven't already found one PM me and I can check if it's still there and cost.

Odd about searsoutlet. Normally it'll tell me where something is available, even if it's 2,000 miles away. Not sure why nothing came up for me. I'll keep an eye out, too, on my next stop at one of my area stores. The one down the road from me had next to nothing of any C3 stuff when I was in last week.

Finally picked up one of the elusive C3 personal fans. It was really dusty and full of cobwebs and had some sun damage to the handle. The seller said it had never been used, but I have my doubts. Anyway, some cleaner and steel wool restored the handle fairly well, though it could use a little more scrubbing. I sprayed the inside with windex to loosen the dirt and then hit it with an air hose to clean it up. Looks really good and works great. Has a slight, intermittent, soft rattle, but I think that's just the nature of the beast. I've heard the same from other fans. It doesn't bother me.

Hey that fan looks great. The one I just picked works great.

Of all the other discontinued C3 tools I think the last one I want is the buffer. The buffer looks like it could be pretty handy.

Yours looks like new, dude. Quite jealous. Yeah, I'd like to get my hands on a buffer, too, though I'll probably end up getting a corded model before I finally find a C3 version. I think those are rarer than the fans.

While not specifically C3, Sears just released a new line of 24v garden tools that look pretty cool.

http://www.craftsman.com/search=24v

Although I have not compared them 'up close', this 'new' 24V line may be from the same manufacturer as the Greenworks GMax 24V. The batteries look similar from pics.

Afterall, Craftsman, Greenworks, Kobalt's 40V system all have the same guts, with different cosmetics to suit the brand.

This being the case, I wonder if Craftsman is going to come out with a system similar to Greenwork's 80V system...that would be cool. I have the Craftsman 19.2 blower AND Greenworks 80V blower, and the CMan is good for light sweeping unlike the 80V which is a beast.

I'll actually be in the market for a mower soon and was looking at the Kobalt 80v. Too bad Craftsman doesn't have an 80v machine yet.

I think you will enjoy the 80v. Mower. I know it's going off topic, but this is an awesome review/comparison of powerful cordless blowers. Kobalt 80 and EGO are neck and neck until the very end. EGO wins but not a deal breaker. Craftsman should follow suit with 80v tools. I might have to sell my Greenworks just because everything else I have is CMan.

Behold the latest in the 19.2v lineup!

b78e799f2409050949c9b3571482a4a3.jpg

Of course, it's an April 1 joke. Can't say I wouldn't buy one if it didn't really exist.

Interesting that the joke chain saw is actually the 24v chain saw that just came out, but scaled down to compact size.

I'm with ya. I'll hold out as long as I can. Hopefully they'll release something soon.

So after a couple of uses on the C3 Chainsaw I will have to say I am pleased with it. It's perfect for limbing and small trees. Easy one hand operation. My brother had to take a good size tree down and he was able to use the C3 saw to get at some branches that would have been a little more dangerous with a gas saw.

Just purchased the 19.2 volt radio / charger model 315el2200. I was hoping someone has used this to charg a battery. The reason why, I tried charging a small lithium battery and it was taking forever. Took the battery off the radio charger and placed it on the normal seperate charger and it charged right away. I read the instructions that came with the radio / charger and the instructions said it "can charge the battery pack in as lilttle as 6 hours depending on size of battery pack" is this correct - anyone have some experience to share?

I've been having problems with my radio as well. It will run off a battery, but if I plug it in to charge the battery I get the two quick blinks on the light, which indicates "Evaluate." I can't get it to charge a battery at all.
