Bad garage floor fix

I have a 2 car with single door attached garage and the floor is not in great shape. There is one crack under a bench that is from room underneath the floor (root cellar). That is not that big of a deal but the floor itself is in bad shape I am guessing from salt and water. The floor was never sealed and it is a slab an top of a slab. There is spots where the rocks inside the con create let loose. Every time I sweep there are tiny rocks and lots of dust.

I am wondering if I get the liquid patch (self leveling) and give it a good thick coat and smooth out with a squeegee, if that would be a good enough base to put the Rustolium Epoxyshield on top? I just want a nice looking smooth floor that is easy to clean.

Maybe we could start with some pictures. It is especially helpful to have something in the pic for frame of reference so we can get an idea as to how deep the damage is and how wide the cracks are.

Hi
A good self leveler is expensive, and they can fail and chip off. We dont like to recommend them for garages. Please email us as we have some bulletins we wrote about this that should be helpful. Email us at [email protected], thanks!

Have you considered floor tiles, like RaceDeck or similar? They are non-adhesive, easy to install, would hide all of that, and cover all of it too. They are also easy to clean and replace in case any get damaged somehow.

It can be done but your floor is a wreck.
Look at some tile options from Justin. He is the king of tiles, all types.

Thanks Scotty. Tiles would be a great option. Drop me a PM and I can send you some samples.

I have thought about tiles but cost is an issue. One of my fears is the durability. I do welding and rolling floor jacks and having jack stands under vehicles.

The cracks do not open and close. The deteriorating is coming from most of the floor. I am sure its do to poor quality work when poured and never being sealed. I am in NW Wisconsin so lot of salt had been brought in from the roads in the winter.
