When checking eBay, make sure you're applying the "Sold" items filter to your searches. Just because people list items for sale at a price doesn't mean they actually sell them at those prices.

$100 is a very good price for everything in the ad, if it all is as good as it looks--good luck!

Picked up a BUNCH of OEM Honda motorcycle specialty tools off of Craigslist, bought it for all the Snap On pullers mixed in with all the Honda tools. I'm a Harley mechanic so they're useless to me but I'm sure I'll be able to flip them and make money on the deal and end up with the Snap On stuff for free. Pictured is less than half of what I ended up getting. Only paid $140

Flip them? Sell them? Isn't that against the law on garage journal? I thought we were supposed to collect and hoard as many tools as possible. Besides you never know, you could end up working on some Honda bikes on the side.

I bought this stuff just to get the Snap On pullers that were mixed in. My family and friends already threaten to force me into some sort of facility with nice padded walls to help with what they see as an over the top tool hoarding problem hahaha. My defense has always been " you never know, I might need it some day ". But at 60 years old if I haven't touched a Jap motorcycle yet I dont see it happening, so I'd rather sell them real cheap to someone that can use them or even give them to some young'n that's interested. Either way they're going, these tools are much too nice to sit in a crate under a work bench when someone can put them to use

Even though I have been hunting and picking up a LOT of stuff, I just haven't had the time to get to posting stuff.

Yesterday I grabbed this stack for $150 and while there, I got these for an extra $100:

3 MAC Body hammers, 1 MAC Dolly (flat) and a Blue Point Dolly

S-K Wayne Rotohead rat, MAC X9R flex head rat, SO 1/2" Pearl handle S836, SO Green Handle 1/4" TML 836, full set of 1/4" SO Deep sockets, and a mix of SO/MAC shallows, SO 1/4" wobble extension, and a smooth shank Lectrolite DBE, which I've never seen before.

I then swung around and snagged this Loo roll cab for $55.

No way, Jose! Buying AND selling is what generates some kind of income to offset the outlay. Plus, if you just buy, you're only creating a pile that someone else will pick for pennies on the dollar after you kick the bucket.

Made rounds at some antique stores this weekend. Picked up the first photo as a group for $12 with a pair of scissors that aren't pictured. I was hoping to get the missing thumb screw for the clamp but when I contacted starrett that part is $55. I picked the vice up for a friend for $25.

You can also look at it this way..........The wife fusses when you buy new tools, right? Every now and then collect some junk ones at a garage sale and then later let the wife see you sell some of your "good" tools!!

Picked up this machinist chest and this crate for $140 total.

The crate is from 1860. It is from the inventor of Bicarbonate, Jim Dwight, who later founded Arm & Hammer with his brother in law James Church. It dates from 1860-1870.

Machinist vise is early 1900s. I have no idea as to maker, wish I did. Cant find anything like it. Solid cherry construction.

I like fondling boxes, but two are better than one. Here's my latest set of boxes, $8 w/ shipping:

Two Superrenches, a Chrome X Quality from the 30's and a later Proto DBE.

Picked up this Wilton Bullet vise for $30. It's a combination C0 vise. No pipe jaws but has the swivel base. No date code, looks like it rusted off. All works great on it. Goes in smoothly

Back from the only sale I am doing today.

No markings on vise or hatchet and only an unreadable pat # on the wrench. Carving tools are German, plane is Stanley adjustable throat. Slide rule is just that.
$125 for all. The vise was $100.

The shape of the screw cap holding the lever is what I always look for. Bonney used that shape carrier. Not saying it's Bonney but that's an indicator for me to look closer.

One meager sale this morning. Little to no tools. Still, I managed to find these two items for $1ea.

MiT 18" prybar
Peterson/DeWitt ViseGrip #12LC large jaw pliers

I also picked up a small tote full of Brio wooden trains and track (not shown) for my nephew for $15.

Nice Wilton for $30, and that portaband was a steal! Well, these keep following me home for some reason. First is an estate sale purchase, I couldn't make the sale, but the sellers agreed to meet up with me anyway. I got the following: Craftsman drill press with slow speed pulley for $150, and the 40's era craftsman jig saw with I think an original era- Dunlap motor and a craftsman belt sander in original metal case for another $25.
Next is a band saw, rode hard and put away wet- The blade is riding on the bare metal wheels, but it has some nice options like the stand, fence, delta miter gauge, belt cover, acouple of boxes of extra blades, the extra gear thing, plus a newer Dayton motor. Got that for $30, and the vermont american Router table was $10.

It got too windy this afternoon to set bridge girders so I pulled the pin and hit two sales. Also bought some old tools catalogs from a fellow collector, Miller Falls, Starrett and HD Smith. 80 for the tools , 60 for the books.
HD Smith is a reprint, Miller Falls is 1938 , their 70th anniversary edition. The Starrett I'm not sure... It just has est. 1880 on it but I'm sure that isn't the issue. The 1880 est. date is interesting in it's self. I would guess the catalog to be from the 40-50's but still cool.
Tool wise I ended up with 9 adjustable wrench's of various makers including one I never seen or at least one I don't remember... The beauty of loosing your memory ... every thing seems new!!!
Railroad anvil, Ford wrench and jack, Stanley steel squares, Heavy steel Stanley level, Long "C" Craftsman 5 bolt hand saw with script and logo still on the blade. Tack puller, SW 68 Box rule, exacto knife set still in the box. Craftsman vise, vise grip chain wrench(pat pending), Cool Yankee drivers, and some other stuff...
Not the best bargains but should keep me busy a while.

Some nice finds guys!

I hit one sale today because the pictures inside the old falling down shed looked pretty good.

Spent $137 total.
Pic 1 the biggest lathe chisel I have ever seen, EADS ????WHITE Buffalo New York 1837 and a long clamp as well. Yardstick below for size!
Pic 2 Craftsman 391-5188 made in Japan 4" vise
Pic 3 Enderes cat's paw prybar, Plomb gear puller, Plumb US 1945 hatchet, Craftsman Crown protractor empty case and sandpaper and 4 Sears Roebuck shoe forms and a bicentennial 1776-1976 Mason jar.
Pic 4 Goodell Pratt calipers, Starrett 1" micrometer, dividers, caliper, scribe and siding protractor. Also in this pic are 3 large knurled knobs with 1/2" fine thread and a J. L. Taylor corner clamp that I haven't figured out what it is for yet.
Pic 5 is one of my favorites, a cast iron no name stand.
Pic 6 is my other favorite of the day, a side shot of the Equipto workbench I picked up. I will post more pics later. You can see glimpses of it in some of the other pictures.
Pic 7 is the big azz spider that was hiding in the desk! I am worried that her kids are still in the Excursion!

Edit found the lathe chisel manufacturer with a little google-fu! L. & I. J. White Edge Tool Company. I can read the L. & I. J. White markings after I know what they are supposed to be.

Edit 2, found the 1909 White catalog apparently what I have is a 3 1/2 wide blade Carpenter's Slick although the wood handle is shaped a bit different than the one pictured on page 20 http://www.wkfinetools.com/hUS-edge...1909-EdgeTools-White/1909-EdgeTools-White.pdf

That chisel is not for a lathe, it is called a slick. Used in timberframing and boatbuilding. Good snag, I have been looking for one, but no luck yet.

Nice snag on that Timber framing chisel. Does it have a makers mark? How wide is it? It looks to be at least 4" wide. The Slick alone is probably worth $137 or more.

dngrmse, I was next in line for that Band Saw! I saw the price and nearly took the 3 hour round trip to grab it! Glad to see it still in the GJ family!

Thanks Rick, that was definitely a no-haggle price, and the seller was literally about 3 miles from my house. Nice guy, he mentioned to me someone else was interested. I didnt even bother plugging it in til I got home.
