And a beefy 5 inch Parker on a swivel base for $125 up in the wine country (Napa, CA.)
Probably weighs in at about 100 pounds.

Good eye, I was going to list this one too, but as macgee said, it's in the ~75 lb range, so a pretty good deal, just not _quite_ hot enough for me to hit the 'post' button on. But keep listing, always good to have another Bay Area member sharing deals!

Larry,

I think Shiftless found a good one and worthy of posting. Both of you are killing it in the SF area. I guarantee there are GJ members in SF benefitting with your posts.

In the last 12 months on Ebay, their has not been one 974 1/2 that has sold for less than $185 + $92 shipping, they usually sell for more. A 975 (5" jaw) sold on eBay $500 plus $100 shipping. If I'm wrong and it's a 5" jaw then it's a score

Their will always be vises for way less $, bigger and smaller but a good functioning Chas Parker 4 1/2" vise with swivel is the quintessential vise and hits a nice sweet spot in size. You could never go wrong with a good Chas Parker. If the jaws are good and you restored the vise (painted), it's easily worth more than twice the price.

Personally I would prefer using a 4 1/2" vise as a daily way more than a 6" vise.

SNIP...

Personally I would prefer using a 4 1/2" vise as a daily way more than a 6" vise.

I have a Wilton 1760 that is used daily. Copper Jaws. I agree, it is overkill for almost everything I do.

I clean/restore a lot of machines/tools from yard sales/swap meets. So it really just holds stuff, hardly ever used for breaking stuff loose or hammering on.

But it works super smooth and I drilled and tapped holes in the metal bench for it, so it stays.

Vintage Maple top Workbench with wood vise. Make an offer!!+ - $40 (Whittier, CA)

This could be a good score for $40 or under. The wood vise included looks like the very hard to find Chas Parker 445W vise. The table will need some reconditioning which is most likely maple.

"Workbench with vice!+ Solid and Heavy; however, breaks down for transportation. Make an offer now!"

IMHO, macgee has found the best deal so far this week. There doesn't look like there is anything wrong with that table that some time with a big belt sander and a few 36 grit belts wouldn't solve. My 4 inch Bosch handled worse than that.
If anybody wants the table free, just buy it and assuming it is complete and operable, mail me the vise.

Maybe I'm missing something, let me know if I'm off but gas powered compressors usually sell for way more money. Although it does looks well used, Even HF sells a smaller one for $500.

Gas Powered belt driven Twin Cylinder Compressor - $125 (Topanga, CA)

"Nice twin cylinder air compressor powered by a 5 hp Craftsman engine. Starts right up and works fine. $125 obo. Tank size is about 10 - 12 gallon."

Can someone explain to me looking at the ad why this isn't a hot deal?

The ad has been up for almost a month.

Here's a Baldor 612R, 1/3 HP buffer / grinder for sale in Campbell (near San Jose) CA for $75. I admit I have a weakness for Baldors so maybe I'm seeing more to this than I should, but these go for ~$300 new, and if treated at all well are nearly indestructible. The dust on this one should be considered a patina.

Added a little something to the green pile.

They don't make these in this color anymore.

That is a nice cart you bought, but this thread is for members who find a good deal on C/L and post the listing for others to follow up on and buy. There are other threads to show your latest scores. Enjoy all your Extreme Green SO gear.

Looks to be a nice Blackhawk S-4 in OKC! $100

Hmmm... Do I need another? Looks like the light switch is there, but the cover doesn't appear to be one with a light. I guess I could get it and swap some parts around. Self restraint!

Thanks for sharing! I picked it up today for $80! great score. no light, switch is there. Needs some new caster bearings, which is just 1/4" stainless balls and then there is a set screw that holds casters on.

Glad it found a good home! I emailed the guy about it a few days ago, but he didn't get back to me. Figured if I made it down that way, I might pick it up, though I really have no need. Too bad about the light, but I guess that means you don't have to figure out how to make it work. If you ever take it apart, I'd be interested in the threads for the light switch. It looks like 1-1/8"x20 tpi, but I'm not sure. I was going to turn a plug just to see, but haven't yet.

Wow! That box looks almost new!
I would pay twice the price if it was in my neighborhood.
Somebody grab that quickly!

The Marin County deals just keep on coming!
Heavy duty card file perfect for tool or fittings storage...on wheels for $25

http://sfbay.craigslist.org/nby/tls/5547717019.html

Odd thing about the north bay is you can find some real deals up there. Same with Santa Cruz.
South Bay or East Bay it's slim pickings usually (or gone in an hour). SF proper, no one has any tools or thinks the Stanley hammer they bought four years ago is worth $35.

Some smoking deals posted here the past day or so, keep up the great work everyone!

This looks like a decent Craftsman table saw for $100 I don't think I've ever saw one quite like this it said to have a 32 by 34 tabletop looking at the picture I would say the 34 is 34 deep I thought 27 was pretty much a standard depth on a table saw looks like it's pretty well made.
