Here are some goodies I won this week in the monthly tool auction.

A box of power strips. Not too exciting but dirt cheap and you always seem to need them.
IMG_2673.jpg

A Powercraft bench grinder.
IMG_2670.jpg

Milwaukee Tools 110V electric impact gun with 12 sockets. It runs in both directions and I'm hoping it still has enough poop left to help with tire replacements.
IMG_2671.jpg

This lot of three bins full of brand new Wiha T handle drivers. Total count was 67 hex 5mm, and 2 of 8mm. Plus 78 small #7 Torx drivers. And a couple drill bits thrown in for luck.
IMG_2672.jpgIMG_2675.jpg

And a nice AV cart with power strip mounted under the top shelf and long cord.

My big score from this months tool auction was this baby. A Presto 1000b capacity small fork lift. Goes up and down like it should, adjustable forks, foot pump to operate it. Has a range of 4" to 50". This was a hard decision to buy given my limited garage space. But I think it can be a useful lifting tool for the relatively small size. As I get older it becomes harder and harder to unload from my truck or to lift heavy items without finding help. It will surely get shifted around a bit as I need work space but should also save my back and allow safe loading and lifting.

I bought Bunch of stuff from the auction today. Pretty happy with this toolbox since it went for less then usual. A few snap on pieces, bunch of plvmb, few Williams, some Armstrong and proto. Box is a cheapie, but it works fine, gonna keep it and find a use for it, at the moment it is holding tools I need to clean up.

OK starting to get caught up on the big Plvmb Buy from 2 weeks ago. First up are the DBE's (yes, I'l post 'em in the DBE thread.)

All but one Proto are Plvmb, some USA, some LA. Most are "flat" a few offest, and a couple oddities with square on one end and 12 pt on the other. 28, total count, and the dupes are stacked.

The Big uns: 1" and up:

The ones under 1":

Lots more to come! I'm still taking pics:

DOE's
SOE's
Drive tools
Combos
Sockets...

I have a similar item, a WESCO handtruck with hydraulic lift. 0-54" lift, 750 lb limit. Thing is a lifesaver. Best shop tool i bought in the last three years.

Wow, I'd be all over something like that!!!

Storage should be easy if you can park the blades under something?

Thanks guys. Ill have to see if the legs can roll under an existing cabinet or workbench when not in use. That's a great idea.

Craigslist score: 40' extension ladder to assist in trimming widowmakers out of the three gigantic oaks along the front of my property. It's a light duty ladder, to be sure, but it only needs to get me and my saw up into the canopy. At $120, it was a bargain.

More great finds guys!

T Mug, great find on the Phoenix! Can you show an interior shot on the skate box? and that stapler is cool , I'd like to find one just to see how the thing worked!

Rmalkow, if the AV cart is big enough, that might make a good stand for a shop oven. (find a remodel cast off - often can be had for free...) and mount/box it in. a 220 power cord with a dryer plug and done...

Found these two boxes, both very straight but the paint jobs are rough.

The Kennedy for $15 and $5 for what I assume is a Sears.

What are the rods for in the last photo ?

I'll just clean them and give them to my kids for their garages.

BlueBomber:

I need to move a 24 ft ladder to my daughter's, about 35 miles away.

Been scratching my noggin trying to figure out a safe way to do it using my small 2wd 97 Tacoma truck, then saw your pic of you moving a 40 ft ladder.

If you don't mind, would love to see some pics on how you secured it and how you built the support in back, as it looks like something that would work for me as well!!!

Thanks.

Nice pick-up on the Kennedy.

MY finds for the morning.

Complete Dresser era SK 3/8 metric set, Petersen welding clamp and 8 piece Henckels steak knife set with the block. Spent a whopping $8.

After Church, stopped at GS and picked up a few things this morning.

Pic 1 &2--Gloves, pulley hook, sanding belts, a little hand drill that had "Precies Hand Drill M.S.K. Co" Wonder if "Precies" should have been "Precise" In any event, looks similar to Millers Falls diminutive no. 4, ice pick, punch, push drill, chuck key, Dutton-Lainson Co Model 606 pistol pump oiler and a "what's it" (metal that is concave on one side and round on other Pic 3 & 4 shows it better).

Mike, better pics of the "Precies" drill please? with something for scale? That looks cool and some of the old are actually nice quality. (clean and lube it, they can surprise you!)

Mcfarmer, I always kept the tune up guide booklets and gasket material up there. (I had one or two "general" booklets for cars and light trucks, and another that was specific for small engines like lawnmowers. - I still have the booklets, but not that particular box...)

Got this for $35

Already pulled the stops out and will remove dividers in each drawer.

Each drawer has 6 steel rollers ball bearing rollers. Weighs over 200lbs.

Bottom drawer is only 1" above floor so I'll probably put down some 2x4s to lift it up a bit.

McFarmer: you may be able to find a manufacture date in the top of the tool box. Look on the bottom of the left-most "tray" area. My Craftsman box of the same color scheme has it stamped in the metal, IIRC.

Nice scores!

Never heard of that Standard Golf wrench but that is neat. Almost like everybody was recently talking about, putting a coin in an open end wrench in a pinch to change the size.

I guess somebody took the idea a step farther.

That is a good idea I had not thought of. For now it will be my upgraded welding and grinding cart. I'm currently using a small roller tool cabinet but it's a bit top heavy and not as stable as this AV cart. The nice power strip on the cart will be great for plugging in grinders and other power tools.

But, I'll keep my eye out for a free oven in the future. I'd love to do my own powder coating someday.

Slept though my alarms this morning and missed the flea market. I was a complete zombie until 2:30p. Sadly, no alcohol was involved, just a long sleepless week and a dreary overcast day to set the mood.
