Does anyone have hands on experience with this impact? I am not interested in Milwaukee or any other brand, as I have several DeWalt 20V Max tools and batteries.

In that case, you're already in Dewalt 20 Volt, you want a half inch impact, there's no question, get it. It's a contender among the best. Thanks, I had looked at the 899 some time back, and got the two confused. There is no contest between the two.
I found a brand new dcf899 on cl for $200 about 6 months ago so I jumped on it. Best tool purchase I've made in a long time. This thing is amazing. Get the one with the friction/bull ring. It makes changing sockets a lot quicker and easier. I have a snap on mg725 and a 3/4" drive aircat 1600, but haven't used either one since buying the Dewalt. It is extremely impressive. I promise you won't be disappointed.
I got mine on eBay from CPO for $199. I wanted the bull ring, but all I found was the detent pin. I'm probably going to leave a 3" extension on it for flip lug nut sockets.
You lose a lot of torque when you use extensions. I doubt it will affect lug nuts though... Just sayin.
Actually, when my hands are clean and dry I can get sockets off fairly easily, so except for some lug nuts, I'll probably skip the extension unless needed.
I bought the ring version then changed it to the pin detent and ground the pin...the pin is faster in my opinion because if you don't align with the pin it will pull off faster and more importantly it takes no effort so it really saves your shoulder...also I can align it with the pin if I want. If I'm pulling off a front suspension there may be 5 different sockets and having to pull off the socket every time is brutal on my arm vs just sliding it off with my fingers. Also those rings wear fast then they don't do anything.
I made 2 videos of this
ground pin
you can change the anvil to either version in about 10 min
you can see in the video I took it out at the end, its so easy no reason not too. Just put your hand or rag over it because it goes flying out with a spring under itDid you take the pin out of the anvil to grind it?

3, 4, or 5 amp batteries are fine for this impact even the 1.5 would work, it's just gonna last less. I wouldn't go an buy a bunch of new batteries for this if you have 3 or 4 amp hour ones from other tools
