Hello all, been lurking for a while and decided to introduce myself. My name is Mike, or mrycar. Am an avid classic car collector, (my screen name holds the clue which type I collect), avid offroader, photographer, and pretty handy with a wrench. I currently reside north of metro-Detroit and hour, in a small township of Almont, MI, originally am from Pennsylvania, and have lived in Kansas, Florida, Georga, Kentucky, Ohio, New Zealand, and several other locations. I am no stranger to Garages, used to work on my dad's combines, excavation equipment, trucks, and anything else mechanical that broke.
Well have joined the site recently as finally having a small garage built to house and restore my toys. Have been 10 years in the waiting due to zoning, not permitting me to build what I want, which is strange, as other than the neighbor across the road, my nearest neighbor is over 1/4 mile away. Am building on a relatively flat, 2.5 acre lot, with the building behind the house, in of course, the lowest spot area around it. The building is a 42'x60'x16' Morton Pole barn, with 3 overhead doors.
I'll be detailing its construction here, and learning a lot from all of you.
Will be adding some posts in and pictures of the progress starting today.
Thanks for letting me kick off my shoes and making this a home.
