Yes it is. Can I use the excuse that I'm regrouping from traveling or that it is hot as hell. I probably have to stick with not being focused. Hopefully I will be able to lift everyone's faith in me by Sunday.

I hear you about the heat, it does take away what you get done in the shop. I sit under my new roof extension and wonder how I survived last August putting it up.
Man, we haven't lost any faith in ya, just want see something on top of that concrete other than beer caps.

Well, call me Rip and put me to bed because I have obviously been sleeping on the job.

I must be getting old because the heat isn't as bearable as it was a couple of years ago, when I was 25. I don't know if it's been the heat/humidity or the fact that the #1 project is drilling the holes for the MaxJax (again) but I've been in a funk and need to get in gear.

I finally decide to get with it. I placed the passenger side post on the new concrete pad and drilled the holes. Then they were vacuumed and washed with a dryer lint brush. The holes were dirty. I let that dry overnight and the next morning hammered the wedge anchors in place. I used a little epoxy on each one like I did on the driver side. The anchors set a lot better when I torqued them down (up?). I still need to bolt the posts down and lift a vehicle.

Last picture is a reminder of why the first attempt failed. A foot deep of concrete does make a difference.

I decided to clean up the shop a little instead of leveling the MaxJax post. The main work bench was full of stuff so that got put away. I worked a little on the back pegboard organization and cut a couple of shelves for my mom. Had some cheap hanger brackets so used one to hang extension cords. I also went through one of the hardware bins and sorted nuts and bolts. I need to order some more Schaller bins to get the bolt drawer set up like I want it. I'll post a picture of drawer when completed. Small progress but it is progress.

Unfortunately next weekend will be spent cleaning up a rental. Hopefully they will be out like they are supposed to be.

Mark, getting closer. I'm having to spend my time cleaning up a rental. It is amazing just how nasty some people can live.

Well I have two instigators, enablers that pointed me to some estate sales and told me if I didn't buy more pliers, I would have my GJ card revoked. Can't have that so I drove 80 miles to hopefully get a Grizzly bandsaw. I was too cheap for that but did end up with some nice tools.

It looked like the gentleman was a HVAC tech. There were a lot of motors, relays, fan blades, etc. He had one box that was full of broken hammers and pliers. I couldn't figure that one out.

Most standard tools, some sheet metal tools. The red box is a double flaring tool and gray box is a sheet metal punch. The 90* reduction gear box is 30:1 and thought it might be useful one day.

I also had a package waiting on me when I got home. I've been putting off buying some more Schaller bins because of cost. Since I started the sorting task, I wanted to finish that drawer out as I had designed. Well putting together an order, I ended up with three full drawers of bins. I still have more from my original assortment so I will probably get another full drawer out of those. :thumb up:
First drawer will be regular coarse thread nuts, bolts, washers, lock washers.
Second drawer will be fine thread, carriage bolts, machine screws, etc.
Third drawer will probably be specialty hardware.
Fourth drawer, these bins are either big square bins or long bins so it will be odd ball stuff.
I do have some of the Lista dividers to help with the other drawers.

I'm getting there.

Who needs to work in the shop with they have great tenants.

This morning the yard trashed got picked up so the grass could be mowed. Inside, I had to set off some insect bombs. Tomorrow morning will be raking up all the trash inside.

So much for having my spirits "lifted" this weekend, both figuratively and literally.

Some nice tool scores shorty. Those vise grip clamps are expensive to buy new over here.

Like 1/2 cup said you won't know yourself having the trays sorted, best thing I did was sort out all that stuff after joining GJ. Such a time saver now.

Shame about the rental, that's really disappointing the lack of care that others have for ones property.

So much for QST this weekend. Yesterday was spent down at the rental. Had a guy mow and weed eat. Trying to borrow friends trailer to haul of the large junk but that didn't work out so went home.
Got up a little earlier this morning, got the leaf rake and pitch fork from the shop and headed back to the rental. The rake and pick fork worked great for piling and picking of the trash. It was hot and humid so decided to do front porch and living room. Somehow I got an energy kick and ended up doing all the rooms. Glad thats over with. I will be back next weekend to repair part of the floor.

I'll try to get the lift plumed and tested during the week.

I did have a quickie shop project. Awhile back, I installed a roll up sun shade for my mom. Only problem is it covers a storm door also. The shade is about a foot from the wall which allows you to open the door. With the sharp corner of the door my brother suggested putting an eye bolt so I was tasked with the upgrade. I wanted a slight upswing so I used my new vise brake to bend the bolt. Normally I would just put the bolt in the vise and use the hammer. I thought, new brake, lets try it!
The bolt bent without a problem. When I pulled the bolt, I saw it nicked the brake. Dammit, lesson learned. This metal brake is for flat stock.

Installed, I see I will redo the eye bolt. I want it longer on the outside and I want to use an acorn nut on inside.

Years ago I had an apartment house and one of the tenants actually took a chain saw and cut a 4'x6' section out of the wall between the kitchen and living room the last day he was living there. I wish I could have got more out of him than is security deposit.

Shorty, I believe many people rent because they can't take care of the things they have so all their income is spent replacing stuff. My wife and I were the first tenants in a furnished rental apartment in Sydney, Australia. We treated it like it was our own and at the end of our two years the realtor called to tell us they were sending a cleaning crew. I suggested she come and inspect the place first. Her only comment was "Are you sure you actually lived here?" and cancelled the crew. We did break one of the Libby glasses the owners provided.

It's really sad to see how some "people" take absolutely no care with other people's property - we (my wife and I) have recently been contemplating buying a rental property, but then we hear of this sort of thing happening.

Thank you all. With the Lift Nazis here in Florida and reading Dan was getting a lift, I had to get my **** in gear.

Right now I'm in the test and verify mode. You know me, I'm all about safety when moving or lifting things. I have lifted the SL but not all the way. I've got an 1" arm differential that needs to be bled out. I also want to tweak the level of the lift since there is a slight inward lean. Safety first! Lastly, I what to check how the anchors look after its first lift.

I will upgrade the connectors as suggested on the MaxJax thread. I'm pretty sure I'll configure the system where pump is on the side so I have a better sight angle on the lift points. In the next couple of weeks I will need to build the lift's safety jack stands.

Well I'm off to rental rehab.

Well Saturday was spent hauling off trash and trying not to pass out from heat exhaustion. Can't figure out why I can't work like I'm 40 anymore?

After a load and a half, job completed and so was I. Darn no working on lift.

On a positive note, while dumping the load at landfill, I did end up with a set of 4" casters, some folding table legs, a milk crate and some short pieces of 4" sch. 40 PCV. I've been wanting to build an expanded metal folding table so now I have the legs. Casters look good, but the wooden dolly was rotten. There was bed rail but I forgot to load it.
