New pads, calipers and rotors on my wife's 2001 Explorer (only 80,000 miles). Which might not be a big deal for people who work on cars, but I don't. Funny thing about out 2001 Explorer is it has a lot of 2002 parts on it. 2001 Calipers, 2002 rotors (made several trips to the parts store). 13 mm nuts on one side 15 mm on the other. Some metric, some SAE. Took me a full two hours but she has a full new front end brakes that work great, anti-sieze on all metal parts, and saved $350. Feels like a million bucks.

Is it a 2 door "sport" or a 4 door? If its a sport it gets even stranger, different grill, etc.

Finished up changing the plugs, 1 coil-on-plug, and 7 new cop boots and springs on my 2001 F150. Also changed the switch on the master cylinder that cuts off cruise control, nice to have that working again.

Cleaned the throttle body, new spark plugs, and changed out the cam position sensor on the car.
Gave the chainsaw a new spark plug, air and fuel filter too.

Over the weekend I fabbed some SST drawer dividers for my Rousseau Storage refurb. Now the tedious task of sorting through 36 years of hardware collecting. The collection is stashed in 2 shops in 3 different "storage systems". Time to consolidate. Got the 10-32/24's all done, just finished the 1/4-20's (shown below) and on to 5/16's tonight.

Very nice. Those Lista cabinets are great and that is a fine job of organizing fasteners.

4 door 4.0L 2WD. Was a Caifornia car (who needs 4wd in LA?) but now it's in the Chicago winters!

even worse when you have a 2002 pre March Explorer. Wiring is completely different and didn't find that out until my rear hatch glass shattered. Junk yard 02 post March Explorer replacement didn't work out. :)headscrat what does glass have to do with wiring, just easier to replace the entire lift gate instead of just the glass. traded the old lift gate to get a deal on the new one. Didn't want to drive 4 hrs round trip again to the yard)

I took the carb out of this thing and started to clean it, it is a Mac 2-10 from the late 60s I think. Looks to be in nice shape so if I clean the carb and can get it to spark it should be usable.

Finished draining the oil in the Mustang, changed the filter, swapped out the stock oil pressure extention for some brass pipe and fittings. I also changed the front seal in the timing chain cover.

Considered putting A/C in the garage again.

78, is that to be a bench or something else? looks cool in any case!

(If a bench I'd suggest making sure its not touching the ground)

It's time for new tires on my '07 Mustang GT. I found a set of '15/'16 GT new takeoffs on EBay for close to the cost of new Pirellis and decided to go for it. The TPMS sensors aren't compatible so I bought new compatible valve stem mount sensors and the TPMS transmitter tool as well. Then off to Harbor Freight for a bead breaker and ready to go. I got the bead broken quickly enough on the first one. I finagled the old valve stem down through the wheel and promptly dropped it into the tire. After an extended session to fish it out without removing the tire, I installed the replacement. The second one went much quicker, halfway done now! I'll try to get pictures up later.

My first ever import valve cover!!! It was in pretty good shape to start with except for a bunch of casting flash along the gasket rail.

I polished the hell out of the lettering and used a candy red coupled with a smooth flat black. I got just a few shots taken before the black sky opened up and started sprinkling on it so the Powder **** was rather abbreviated and not a true representation by a long shot.

The customer hasn't seen it yet. His girlfriend contacted me shortly after I got retained for the job and wanted to take care of the bill for him as a surprise. And SURPRISE, it's been three days and I haven't heard squat from her. Hmmmmmmmmm ...

Two weeks ago i picked up a 42" craftsman riding tractor for $100 off a Facebook yard sale site because it had a steering issue. $70 later it has a new drag link plus new mower parts so the blades disengage properly, and the oil & filter is changed. Boom, works great, even has a grass catcher.

So today I snagged one for free because it needs a battery and cables - someone cut the battery out. I'll get a closer look this weekend. I hope to keep the costs <$100 and then flip it for $250 or so. Camaro parts don't buy themselves. lol

Yardsale sites are great, just got to be lucky with timing.

Got up at 5am.. went to The Bunker and did a bit of measuring then went to work.. did 2 hours to finish off an order for Monday then clocked out.. Then went rummaging through the weeks scrap wood.. Result was enough white gloss board to start my tool cabinets above the bench.. Cut,edged and partly drilled then stacked in The Bunker ready to start the build tomorrow.. got some swanky hinges too. Then spent a little time on Ebay and ended up ordering a wire wheel for my bench grinder (£4) ready for the resto on three record pipe wrenches and won 5 meters of multi colour LED strip and a remote controller for 99 pence.. Also measured up the stuff I need to plumb in my de-humidifier so I don't need to empty it once a day, not being in there I have no idea how long it takes to fill and how much of the day it's not doing anything. Wales is a Green and pleasant land.... Because it rains.. A Lot...

Did a tire rotation on my VW with my new lift. And I'll tell ya what I needed the air impact to get those damn front lug nuts off. Glad I wasn't on the side of road. That might have been bad.,

A rotation has never been to much fun!

Worked in & around my container box (right next to the shop); removed the front A-arms from an otherwise bare Pontiac X-frame, hoed half the container box out, got said parts and others ready for pick-up by a buyer in an hour or so.

Rebuilt carb on a 1972 bug with 300 original miles on it. It still has that new car smell! I bought a Carburetor parts cleaner kit from Advance and It worked great.

Any pics of a VW with 300 original miles are def worth posting up!
I don't have any good pictures of it, it's always in the background. I will take some pics of it Monday. Most those miles have been put on it in the last two years. It sat for over 30 years with just 19.3 miles on it.

Put a new bag on the original frames for the Snapper walk behind mower. I forgot how much fun getting the bag stretched around the connector is.
The original bag was a one or two model year only, 14" wide bag that is ~$90.00+$14.00 shipping for just the replacement bag from the on line parts places, so when it wore out a few years ago I just settled for a complete "standard" 11" bag assembly for $40.00 from ebay.

It doesn't seem like much of a size difference, but with the 11" bag I have to dump it 3 or 4 times for each regular mowing. The 14" bag gets me through in only 2. It didn't really bug me but when I found one on ebay for $50.00 "Buy it now" +$7.00 shipping I made an offer of $35 and I got it. Anyone need a used, very good condition 11" Snapper Hi Vac bag assembly? :lol_hitti

I put some Thompson sealer and stain on the trailer yesterday morning. Let it cook for a day and wanted to measure for some straps.

A little custom work necessary for the outlet of the pump too tank (instead of being a compression fit I welded a -12 an male fitting to it) some SS hose too a big hayden 1290 oil cooler (27.2"×23.4"×2.1") with 3/4"npt outlets. Secured it to the fan shroud with some vinyl cushion clamps, 1/4×20 fang bolts using two 1/8 thick rubber washers on each side of the shroud. Came out nice so far. (compressor is a husky 80 gallon two stage 7.5hp 175 psi) should jave got an ir but for 500 in great shape on craigslist i needed it badly .Anyway from cold start 0 psi too 175 psi I measured just about 200F Outlet temp (measured at the cooler input and I saw just over 90F coming out) .this was with it being at least 90F in the shop . The large pulley does an ample amount of airflow through the cooler to get the temps down. I think an electric fan that came on with the starter would do even better but I don't have a blast cabinet yet or anything that will consume any large cfm of air to see what kind of temps continuous cycles will do .Hoping to find a deal on a hypertherm soon and change that.
