Do the atlas in-floor lifts have any mechanical safety or fail-safe when they're lifted?
check the New Age Cabinets the second they arrive. don't let the driver go until you inspect the. Helped my buddy set up his garage with a 12 piece setup and 50% was damaged and then half of the replacements were damaged. It took about 3 or for 4 tries to get all the cabinets with no damage.
But they did let him keep all the damaged ones. I think he might have gotten one or 2 good cabinets out of pieces of the damaged ones.

In Petaluma right off 101 is Maselli and Sons Hardware. In back they have a junk yard of used steel. It's pretty cool.

Have you made any progress on your gate? I am going to have the same narrow access to the garage as you. ABout 10 feet from house to fence and have 2 dogs I need to keep trapped in the yard. Interested in what you have planned.
Once again, floors look awesome!
As far as the NewAge cabinets, I did some research and did hear rumblings of damaged cabinets upon delivery. Although most of these complaints from what I have found were instances when they were ordered from a 3rd party, i.e. Amazon, Sam's Club, etc. I ordered my Bold cabinets directly from shopNewAge.com and they arrived tightly wrapped and in perfect condition. Of course, I still need to install the uppers!
Also note, NewAge is a Canadian company and if you order directly from them, you may have to pay a foreign transaction fee (very nominal though)

Well you guys were right about damage to the NewAge cabinets. I ordered 4 through Sams Club and they came on a pallet and I ordered 8 from Sears and they were loose shipped and 6 of the 8 were damaged, and of the 6, 4 need to be replaced.

Are those base cabinets? The locks look like there in the wrong place. The wall cabinets have the locks at the bottom of the cabinet.
It's tough to get sheet metal cabinets through UPS of FedEx without damage.![]()
Keep posting pictures as the cabinets go up. Lots of people want to hear the story. The old, "if I can't see or touch them, how do I know what I'm getting", is very true.

I got 6 up late last night and hope to get another few up tonight while I wait for replacements.

What was the function of that giant screw? You didn't use that to hold up the cabinets, did you? That thing would be poking out thru the siding.
Was it used to hold them on the pallet?
Also pertaining to Dittle's question, I was wondering if the cabinet could be flipped upside down or maybe just the doors. I don't know what the inside of these cabinets look like.

depending on how those doors are mounted could you just flip the doors upside down having the locks end up down at the bottom?
No can do - the shelves wouldnt work. The shelves only work in the current upright orientation.
he said JUST the doors, not the whole unit. could be possible.
Congrats on making it to the front page and your interior isn't even close to done yet.
Love the build and the look. with my old eyes if I dropped a screw on that floor I would never see it again until pulling it from a tire! Bench is going to be killer.
