As far I can remember Torx bit sockets were always sold under lifetime warranty. I also question the manager about the new one with the part number ending E. She 1st said is the bit damage or the whole socket and bit. Than she correct her self and said sorry we have to replace the whole unit.

Lifetime warranty for orignal owners, althoug truck guys are good about taking stuff from people in the industry. The retail sales reps are trained not to warranty garage sale stuff, which is what this looks like to them. Wether or not that is true, that is what they are lookin at here.
1) guys comes in parts claimed bought in year x, but were not made fo at least 20 years prior to year x. this will raise eyebrows.
2) guys claims he worked in indusrty for Z years, but sockets were perdect for all of that hard insustry use, with no issues. But now they all fail together in a big group. this will raise eyebrows.
3) the parts are not possible to fix with simple swap outs, you need entire new replacement pieces, which is $100+ of parts...etc. This again is a red flag, because when in combination with (1) and (2) it starts to look like behaviour they don't want to incentivise.
Again, wether or not the facts are exactly these, this is how a reasonable person is starting to see the big picture, if they are in the business and trained to do basic checking, for honesty/integrity etc.
If you are honest with them they usually are pretty good, but even if it was by mistake a small error, they are having a hard time to put together all of the facts here in your favour.
So its not fair to **** on the company here.
That's why this thread is kind of un-cool.
The flip side is these are expensive flippin sockets and when you buy them you want to get good value and be treated with respect, not like a sucker who is throwing money away. Totally get that angle as well. But it is a very difficult problems given the issues involved here. Because even if you want to buy the $10/per replaceent bits you are kind of screwed on the earlier stuff, so its a bit swing who pays for that.
Good luck, hopefully it will be sorted out.
