I've bought a few out of box items like this. No, you're not going to get it for next to nothing, but I've bought several items for about 60-70% off their normal list price. Picked up a M18 Fuel Brushless 1/4" impact for $40 this way.

Does this only work if there's no NIB stock left? I can't imagine trying to talk down a display model when there's ten in stock right below.

Usually it is stuff that they've pulled off to the side or had in their clearance area to be fair, just didn't have a price on it or had a price and been sitting there forever. If they've had something on clearance for 3-4 months that is missing parts, out of box, etc., they're much more likely just to name a price to get it gone if someone shows interest.

Wish I could've let them penny but pretty sure they wouldn't go through, picked up 5 205 pc sets and 6 100 pc sets... I don't try to profit from these I just like selling one or two to let me keep one for free... Couple of these will go to friends as well..
Also sharing cause I haven't heard of this happening before, but, the 100 pc set showed 13.03 in the pca, still scanned at $49.88 at check out, somehow there were two prices attached to the same SKU.. They said something about it going back up for another special they were running or something, either way I got them for 13.** but not sure how much longer that price will be effective

Cheers

I found one yesterday and it came up in the system at the $49 price, PCA and SCO. The 205 was still $25 in the PCA but I didn't find any.

Defiant mini LED work light SKU 1000 017 389. $1.52. When I picked it up I thought it might be a penny because I remembered seeing a bunch of them on the clearance end cap about a month ago . But it was lunch time and all the computers were busy so I couldn't check it out in the PCA. Took it to self checkout and planned on leaving it if it wasn't a penny but $1.52 was close enough to a penny for me.

Well I said I would share the deal I got earlier. I did have a picture but I deleted it. But I got 2 of these Mosquito magnets for a penny each. They had a 3rd one, but I didnt want to take a chance and get denied all 3. I went back to get the last one, but it was too late. :(

Anyways, I havent found much lately. Maybe someone else can share some more deals?

You're doing it wrong!

Please explain.

the deals only work in SCO not at a regular register

If "SCO" means Self Check Out, then that is exactly what I did.

Just to clarify, Penny deals only work at SCO

HD Employees also work at SCO. When I attempted to scan the X7, right away the helpful HD Employee offered to scan it for me, since the X7 in a box is a large box 3 feet tall, and approximately 2' x 2' in width and depth, totaling to a package size of approximately 10 to 12 cubic feet, more or less. The HD Employee has a wireless handheld scanner, and interceded as I hefted this box across the SCO.

Yes, I've read this thread. And the previous thread. And last year's thread.

Yes, I've gone to the Pro Desk computer. The Windows & Doors department computer.

Yes, I've waited until the attendant at the SCO was busy.

No, I've never gotten a so called "penny deal". Not one.

No, I'm not the kind of guy who wants to profit off of these deals by selling them on Craigslist, quite unlike the SPN1025 (user name something like that) guy who would drag along his cute little baby on all his penny shopping sprees. How is anyone going to say no to a Dad taking care of the baby?

No, I don't have a baby.

Yes, I actually needed a paint sprayer. I'm exactly the profile that Ryan (administrator) says he wants this thread to help. I'm painting my garage by hand right now, with a brush and roller. It's taking forever. I still have the rest of my house to do. It is hard to justify $400 sprayer for one project. And the $100 sprayers are a joke, from all the reviews. Hence, I could have used an X7 at a close out price. It didn't matter if it was a penny. I was happy to spend $100. But...

No, I didn't get the deal.

If you did, again, I ask HOW? Just telling me I did it wrong, or assuming that I didn't use SCO, isn't as helpful as telling me how to do it RIGHT!

Thanks.

At my store they had two x7 models the one that said true airless was full price something like 400+ and the one that said pro x7 and that was the model that was on clearance some thing like $115 I believe. Same goes for the x9 look for the model that says either prox7 or prox9 those are the ones that where on clearance.

The sprayer seems to be hit or miss. One store had the Truecoat 360DPS ( not sure of model # ) on clearance for $53 all others in my AO are 179. I didn't buy it the night I saw it. Now its gone. Its pretty rare for me to find deals at HD in my AO

Tried this yesterday with day manager to no avail on a demo tool set. Apparently only the manager can change the clearance item prices above a certain % off. Woman at the service desk was willing to come down a bit on the item, but wasn't enough to make it a decent deal, let alone a worth while one. He seemed pissed because he was being bothered with it, even more so when I turned them down with the price. Sorry, $60 off OP on demo tools that are missing the batteries and charger, get lost. That's why they've been sitting there for almost 5 months.

Might try again with the night manager, he might be a in a better mood.

Thanks.

'spn' guy and a few others basically wrote the 'dummies guide to hd deals' and taught a lot of ppl a lot of stuff on here so its probably best not jab him when asking for help bc 99% of the ppl still reading this every blue moon who can help you have a ton of respect for him and the others who were banned and will likely refer you to their posts while training you how to find a deal...

with that said, im pretty sure you didnt read everything, bc if you did, you would know that you would have had to go to almost every hd in town chasing that thing down hoping to get lucky.. A MONTH AGO. its likely long, long gone now. if it didnt get swiped up <highly likely> im fairly certain they fell out of the system at the stores who did have them...

to find deals in the future, go search the guides <or whatever directions are still out there> for 'pca' and go play around with it and get comfortable using it... that way you are prepared and know what you are doing next time you hear about a deal you might want. dont be shocked if it takes a few attempts to figure it out and actually use it successfully.

and fwiw, im fairly certain you can get decent household-use spray guns from harbor freight since you missed out on this... im sure theres plenty of air compressor deals floating around...

and lastly a crumb of a deal for yas:
10 gal husky air tank: $8.80 (75% off) <limited store-by-store availability>

Re: Home Depot Clearance Thread 2015

Under 100 at all my local stores

What is under $100? If you are referring to the 39" 3 drawer Husky box, then yes, it is under 100. I got one for $38 a couple of weeks ago. Decent box for the price, but I would prefer one with more drawers rather than the big cabinet space underneath. I am pretty certain this box has been discussed here one more than one occasion, so no need for anyone to be intentionally cryptic.

If anyone is aware of a deal on a Milwaukee box. Please let us know. Or me via PM.

I don't have one, it was another dude that posted it.

Should have got in on the 52" boxes from earlier this year. I picked up one of those and two of the 39'ers, I have storage for days now!

Saw some Fein 350 starlock start kits in clearance at my store for $180. Too much now, but might keep my eye out if they go lower.

Thanks for sharing. Do you mind pm me your area? I'm in need of a couple faucets for my house. Anyone else know of any faucets other than Koehler geo and Lin? Please let me know.
