:thumbup:Vieux, done well.

What you have done is something I must do here..

Cheers

Many Thanks!

Do you plan on covering the foam board? That insulation is very flammable and must be covered to prevent fire. I am really impressed with what you are able to accomplish in your garage.

Before installation I'm going to soak the ceiling fire-proof substances.

Thank you! I hope this will happen :)

In parallel with the insulation of the garage ceiling to make the new fuse box. The fact that you can buy not satisfied me with their size. Therefore, we decided to make yourself. Housing used housing from uninterruptible power supply APC. Cut off the excess, put a small circuit breakers 1.6 amp. I use them for lighting. My old fuse box was done 15 years ago. He haven't like, so I decided to redo it

Preliminarily, it looks like. Later I will replace the screws securing the circuit breakers for the flat head screws.

A small job. Did the person filter housing for the gas equipment of the car. Material - aluminum.

Insulation of the ceiling is moving slowly. Lacking time. Today it looks like this.

A delicious Cup of hot tea very helpful after work. :)

Vieux, I can't get the video to play.

Sent from my SM-G900T using Tapatalk

The video should play. Video made by the rules YouTube

I was able to see the video in You Tube and WOW! are you really fast at operating that lathe!!!
Thanks! Video speed increased several times.

I made and installed a new switch Assembly. It turned out so. Left to make labels to the switches.

Electric hardware and code in Russia are VERY different than in the US. Are electrical components and installation methods regulated in Russia?

Look functional!

CT

I think it is different enough. In Russia mostly used voltage 220V and frequency 50Hz. Also used 3 phase 380 V. In my garage and used 1 phase 220V. I certainly would like to use 3 phase, but there is no such technical capabilities.
Of course in Russia there are rules and regulations for installation of electrical components. And these rules are tough enough.

Designed and printed a sign for my electrical panel. Will look like this.

I really like your breaker box.

The volt meter is a nice addition. I think it would be a good addition for me. Sometimes our voltage goes awry but we seldom expect that so we don't realize we are having a voltage problem.

Have you thought about building a three phase converter? Or is all your 3 phase equipment 380v? We have lots of cheap 220 v three phase equipment available so all we have to do is generate the third leg.

Nice work on the air filter. Did you fit an o-ring to the thread?

Vieux, we have every confidence in you abilities in fitting an alarm system.

Keep us updated..

Regards

Thank you! I'll be sure to keep you up to date. I'm very interested in repairing this car. Dodge Caliber is not quite a common car in Russia. At least in my small town...

We, too, often a problem with voltage. Therefore, the voltmeter is a very useful tool.
I have a frequency Converter, it makes 3 phase 2.2 KW. Since the frequency Converter is quite expensive, I use one inverter on two machines - lathe and milling.

Yes, of course in the filter have an o-ring. To use the filter without the o-rings too dangerous

I modernize the system of oil feed box feed of my lathe. Previously, it was necessary each time to Unscrew the iron cap, pour the oil. Now I put the transparent cover and the oil pump. Greasing much easier.

Grizz1963 Thanks!

Installation of alarm systems in the Dodge Caliber. Car in the basic specification, no even Central locking. Had to put myself. Very interesting disassembled the door trim. Had to spend a lot of time to parse. Connect to the standard wiring problems did no deliver. The car is very simple.

You are a clever man.

Well done Vladimir.

Again I say this, the skill you have is not being learned by children.

It is a sad time that problem solving is not part of schooling for most people.

Not sure I would have tackled that!

Car didn't have electric door locks, I see you had to add. Was the wiring harness equipped with the spare conductors?

Nice flag on the wall:thumbup::thumbup:

Additional wires in the door were not. I laid all the wires again. The flag on the wall is a gift from Grizz1963.

Vieux: your garage is about the same size as mine and you rebuilt a car in yours. WELL DONE SIR!!

sorry i haven't stopped in to say hi or read all of your thread, but i'm making a point to today. also I noticed your 30 ot 6 maybe sitting next to your bench and had to ask is that for safety or in case you need to ask a few of your neighbors for parts. sorry to make light of what must be a very tough situation, but you had to know I or maybe others would ask.

i commend you for making the best out of your situation and i love the saying the eyes are for seeing and the hands are for doing to take care of maybe almost anything.

cheers

I finished reading all this thread yesterday and took some time to reflect. I must say, you are a man of great ingenuity! I admire your work and the answers to your problems are very well thought out.

I wish I had the ability to diagnose electrical problems like you do.

Keep doing what you do best. We all love seeing the results that you pull out of that little garage!

Again a small job. Replacement bolts for mounting cutters on a lathe. Bolts with internal hexagon was uncomfortable to use, clogged with chips, and they are hard to Unscrew. Did new bolts and installed it. It turned out so.

Later I will upload to YouTube a video about the manufacture of bolts and shelves for emery. Video here

Vieux: not only are your projects and ideas great, but your pictures are over the top. can you tell me (us) what camera you use to take them? all my close up pictures are blurry with my cell phone and maybe i just need a new cell phone and your pictures are amazing.

I love old SLR camera. I have several models of old cameras, Zenit, Zorki and fed. Maybe someday buy myself a collection of Nikon and Canon.

On the street became cold and have to heat the garage. After the summer break, launched its 3kW heater. Video here

Heat is neat. It's so much better to have it available when you don't need it than to need it and not have anything available, especially when you have made it yourself for a small price!

Thanks! I totally agree with that.

Again to optimize the small space in the garage. Very often, the necessary grinder for turning tools. Made him a small shelf, easier to use and takes up little space.
