I bought the 48-piece set maybe a year ago. It was, at that time, on sale for $39. Very good set, but $49 is not a deal, unless the regular price has gone up since I bought mine.

Again, it is a very nice set and I've used mine a number of times.

The price has rarely gone to 39 this is a decent deal, especially if you have any points back coupons. The standard price can be anywhere from 55 to 75 depending on the week

I have this set. Snapped one of the taps? pretty easy. The metal looked like it was cast.

These aren't intended for thread cutting - they are strictly for cleaning up old threads. I use them a lot and never had any sign of one breaking. Much more fun putting things together with nice clean threads. These are the same items sold by various truck brands for much higher price (but with warranty!), made by Kastar, I think?

These are well worth the price. I bought my set a couple years ago and have used them far more than I thought I would. On the plus side, if you do break/lose one on the rethreaders you can order them individually from Snap-On for a pretty decent price.

I wasn't cutting threads. I was cleaning out red locktite. Perhaps the wrong too to the job but didn't take much to break the 8mm.
