I just bought 10 2-packs. Grand total with shipping and tax was $475, so ~$23 each. Shipping is $5 PER 2 pack, which is a bit lame. Also, if you don't have a costco membership, they will tack on an extra $30.

That's exactly what I did. I pulled down the builder installed twin tube 4' fixture, added a surface mount box over the ceiling box. That surface mounted box holds a duplex receptacle for the new Feit lights and a 2' extension cord drop with strain relief that hangs down for quick access for a shop vac, etc.. Very handy. The box was already switched to a wall switch, so it works perfectly.

Good idea with the extension cord drop. Something I've been thinking about too. Would you mind taking some photos of your setup?

How long is the plug in cord on these? The pictures make it look like the cord is about a foot long...any real world info on that?

The cord is a little longer than the light, which is 48"...so I think it's 5' long. Someone else mentioned 6', but I'm pretty sure mine are closer to 5'.

I spaced my lights 41" apart and hanging on the 6" included cables, there is just enough cord to route down the cable, across the ceiling, and up the other cable.

Sure. Here's a pic of my prior install using the Sam's club LED's. I had to get creative with the box covers since I could not find a double cover that had a duplex outlet on one side and a 1/2" knockout for the strain relief on the other.

For the drops, I used nice heavy rubber insulated 14/3 sold by the foot at Home Depot, and a nice bright orange female plug for visibility. I hung them about 6'6" from the floor. Very handy to have a few in the shop!

This new one uses 41 watt to produce 3700 lumen. The old one uses 38 watt to produce the same output. LOL why the Dow grade.

Bought an additional 6 last night. They sold a pallet of 80 in less than 8 hours an employee told me. I said I was surprised they lasted that long.

btw i plugged one in and one bulb wouldnt kick on. I dont think these bulbs are replaceable, atleast according to the box.

SHould I return it to Costco or do as the instructions say and contact Feit instead? (yes i read the instructions)

I wouldn't mess with calling Feit, I'd walk back into costco, get a refund, and buy another.

Been looking around for a flush solution for the ceiling round box. No luck...at all, well.... no easy solution so far. I haven't had time to see how deep the box is. Perhaps I need to change the box to an old work two gang? Wife is not going to be happy with me spending more time in the garage LOL

btw, thank you CSRPenFab for the pictures.

Wouldn't that plug cover have been easier to get a duplex / switch cover then drill out the square for the switch to put the strain relief in?

That's a damn good idea! In my rush at Home Depot to grab the parts I just grabbed what I thought would work. It would be quite easy to drill the switch opening to a 1/2" round to mount the strain relief. Thanks.

Can the bulb changed if and when it goes, or do you just toss the whole unit?

In America, we like disposable cheap Chinese goods. Its a hallmark of our society. I'm guessing these are disposable too.

This is why I buy things at Costco. Dead cable modem? Return. Get a new one. No messing with Motorola support.

It depends on what your current box is, a 4" shouldn't need adaptation. I would use a metal handy box extension if you need to adapt a 3.5" round, it will screw cleanly into the box.

+100, can't beat their return policy. We had a year old mattress bought from Costco online and we didn't like it. I called them up to see if they'd offer a prorated return... They said "no problem, we'll issue a full refund and send a truck to pick it up". That right there is service!

Each year I send my managers fruit/nut baskets from Costco.com. Last year, the shipments got delayed due to UPS and weather. No big deal, it was only late one or two days...Costco emails me and says "we're so sorry, to ensure top quality each recipient will be sent a second basket free of charge". That was over $1,000 in product! That is customer service!

How large is your 3 car ? I have a 20 x 30 w/ 12.5' Ceilings. I'm wondering if 12 will be enough ?
I have a ~22x22 with 13'4" ceilings. I suspended the lamps about 18" down and I currently have 9 lamps up with 4 more to go. It's very bright, but I am definitely going to be putting up the additional 4. I almost regret not spacing it for 16(+1 workbench) lamps...Especially at the new lower price! I do not have painted walls so I am sure that eats a good bit of light, though.

I'd do 3-4 x 5-6 in your 20x30. Zone em so you can turn it down when you want to. I will be able to turn off 2 of the rows once I find a good deal on a wireless controller.

I think I paid 40 each when I bought mine. I have 11 in my garage and I am not even sure about my basement 10-12 . I did go back and get them to price match it to 35 I believe.

FYI, I bought 20 of these (10 of the 2-packs) and everything went through and they have shipped. However, they charge shipping PER box and there are 10 tracking numbers, one for each box. It's a bit silly that they don't ship it as a multiple-box shipment, just each as their own, but that's fine.

So if you have a Costco membership, it would be best to get them in the store.

I saw these on sale last night and picked up two of them to check them out. I was considering them previously, but at $36 that wasn't worthwhile to me at this time. At $20 per unit that's a great deal. I put one up under under my workbench shelf and man the light is great. Overall I'm impressed with them. Lightweight, seem durable enough, and they have keyholes for flush mounting them. The instructions even included the exact keyhole spacing, which if you're product has screw keyholes for mounting your product... that should be required.

I will likely go back and pickup up another 10-12 to light my 24x30 garage and update the basement laundry room lighting.

I'd like to get some for my unheated garage. Are these affected by cold temps?

Work GREAT !!! Best bet for cold Northern Illinois weather. No issues with 0 degree temperatures. My dam fluorescent ones really sucked ! Replace old 4 bulb with the two bulb ones from Costco over a year ago and they are great ! I could not resist and bought two more yesterday.

I love these light too....great daylight!
If you haven't pulled the trigger on these, just go buy one...you will be sold!
I got rid of all my florescent fixtures and am thinking of getting 6 more just to have some on hand, in the box.

I just drilled two small holes though the back between bulbs about a foot in from each end and secured with wood screws flush to ceiling. Crude, secure and easy. Good to know the instructions do have exact keyhole spacing though! Hung 4 last night underneath garage door rails in a garage with 8' ceilings. Work great.

That is how I did it in the basement . I will post a picture of how I have them in my garage and basement later. I want to point out what some one smarter than me pointed out in another thread on these is the color rendering index is not given which likely means it is not very good. So no matter how much light with out a good cri you still night have trouble seeing.

The manufacturer states a color temp of 4000k. Kind of a sweet spot between incandescent (~2700k) and flourescent (5000-5500k+) in my opinion. I prefer a bright(er) white(r) daylight style light. These are a bit "hotter" with less blue, but I like them pretty well.

You have a small amount of voltage leaking from somewhere, then. If it bothers you, check for a shared neutral somewhere.
