Anyone know about C. A. Herriman vises? This is a number 15 I've had sitting in my shop for years. It's older than I am I think.
I had it clamped to the underside of a bench just to keep it off the floor and out of the way. Cold as balls today and I reached for something, hit the handle, and it dropped to the floor. No damage-only a foot or so drop. Of course as I reached to catch it I smashed my finger on the edge of a piece of scrap steel and knocked the skin off. Barely a week goes by and a healing wound is replaced by a new one.

Bought this Columbian 204 1/2 today. It is missing pipe jaws. Would love to find a set or get ahold of drawings with measurements.

Received another baby Wilti today I could not pass up and I was really surprised to see how clean this thing is for something older than me, not abused at all,
Question for the hive; do I clean up and repaint or clean up and leave original finish, decal remnants, and patina![]()
anyone seen one of these before. a re-badged Vanderman I'm pretty sure, but a little different. Ive never seen one before

Looks quite similar to an Athol. Pic of the vise in question.

First post sorry if I'm in the wrong section. I just found this cool vice in my sisters basement and will be mounting it to the bench in my garage as soon as I can. Does anyone know how old it is or if it would have originally had a pivot base. Thank you in advance for any info you may be able to provide me.

It can only be original once. There are too many of these things being repainted, in my humble opinion. Clean it up and keep it all original as a true survivor.

That Parker sounds great providing the crack isn't really bad. Probably 100 years old or a bit more.
