Are you friends with kmscott? I remember Kevin posting a pic that looked quite a bit like this one. Can't recall exactly but it was a friend of his or someone he visited....like down in Texas?
Yes I'm good friends with Kevin. What an outstanding talent he Is! And another great individual! Kevin is a perfectionist and man he is good with that metal!
Nothing wrong with this picture, big iron as wallpaper, I like your decorator. Some familiar stuff but also see lots of unique big boys in this pic. Feel free to add comments on any of these beauties.
C'mon, you gotta have a story for this little guy!
I hate to be boring about this one but the story isn't all that exciting. The exciting part about it is that I own it. Let me start by telling you that I do extensive research about vise and blacksmithing tools. That said I have looked and looked and asked and asked and can tell you nothing about this little vise or what it's purpose is.
I was in Weatherford, TX and stopped to see an old friend Dave, owner of Daves Stove Shop, he had this vise for sale $12 "Duck Bill Vise" the sticker said. I picked it up and made a B line for the register and paid for that sucker. Said good bye to Dave and got in my truck and literally started singing the "look at what I got song" and high 5ing myself. Just excited as could be. I'd ever and have never seen anything like it. If anyone know what it is exactly I'd love to learn more about it.
I don't know if Demo is about your age but did he or you, get the other into collecting vises...or you guys met at an auction bidding on the same vise!!!...and became friends?
Yes Demo and I are about the same age. I'm 38 and he is 46 or 47 (today actually) if I remember correctly.
Demo how old are you?
We met on "farmersonly.com" Ha! Just kidding! We were actually introduced by another member of GJ. I'm not sure what his call sign is but it's Tom Davis. Another fantastic vise collector.
