Yes, ebay has been playing a game of whack-a-mole and hasn't caught every account that is/was selling these jacks (and Predator engines and other Harbor Freight items - see below) in that price range. New accounts with the listings are popping up every day. Most of the seller accounts had been members for a year or more, usually with little to no feedback activity, and they were from locations all over the country.
The details vary because accounts being used don't appear to have been fake, but rather ones someone had surreptitiously gained access to. The one thing they have in common is that they are all selling the same Harbor Freight items at 'too-good-to-be-true' prices using the same headers ("3 Ton Daytona Professional Steel Floor Jack - Super Duty, FREE SHIPPING!!!", "8 HP (301cc) OHV Horizontal Shaft Gas Engine EPA New 100%", "12 in. Double-Bevel Sliding Compound Miter Saw With Laser Guide System New 100%", "17 gal. 1.8 HP 150 PSI Oilless Air Compressor New 100%", ... just to name a few) all using the same stock photos, same description, usually starting out with more than 10 available.
In the Harbor Freight Daytona Jack thread there are quite a few members (myself included) who placed an order from almost as many different accounts only to at some point later received an email from ebay like this one:
![]()
That's 12 different GJ members I linked above who got that same email, and that was just what I was able to get in a few minutes using GJ's thread search function which leaves much to be desired. I'm sure there are more.
Many of those who ordered got that email from ebay well after the paypal transaction had already went through and often already had a FedEx tracking number for it showing their jack was coming from Harbor Freight in Dillon SC, however in some cases Harbor Freight was able to have the item recalled by the shipper before the delivery was made.
Given that ebay is catching so many of these listings and notifying the purchasers that the seller's account may have been compromised by a third party, and that Harbor Freight has on occasion been able to stop the shipment on items already in transit, it doesn't take a genius to figure out what's going on.
I too bought mine on ebay because it seemed like a good deal at that price, but now in hindsight had I known then what I do now I wouldn't have purchased it that way.

This thread should just be locked.
It started out by trolls trying (succussefully?) to fuel a lawsuit on behalf of snap on...and ended with credit card thieves (succussefully?) trying to scam harbor freight...with fraudulent sales....
Smells like ******** all around.
While i agree with you, and i did read this whole thread, i have to wonder how harbor freight is allowing this to happen. I mean if one does a search for completed auctions, there are HUNDREDS of these jacks sold at the low buy it now price. The last auction has 41 sold on January 15 and counting. No way the warehouse is so busy they overlook multiple orders for this jack going out the door each day, especially if HF is "aware" of credit card fraud on their system. While i have read and understand WWheelers post, i have got to believe that it can't just be stolen credit cards for each one.

I suspect it's legit. It's selling for a little more than you can buy it for with free shipping from K-Mart

I could see the seller breaking roughly even after fees from ebay but profits in whatever they earn &/or cashed in in SYW points. They might even be a 'gold' or 'platinum' member and get even more benefits and discounts from Sears.
I noticed the same. I attributed it to the extra weight capacity over other jacks I've owned, but it doesn't seem right. I wonder if possibly it needs bled or even fluid added, I haven't had time to mess with it at all except for an initial test lift out of the box. Finally broke out the Daytona last night... is it me or does the Daytona jack seem to require a LOT of pumps once loaded? IIRC my NAPA took much less.

.....I'm still using 35 year old green craftsman jacks. They have been bulletproof.
I do have a 15+ year old Powerbuilt aluminum jack that was gifted to me too.
I had to locktite every nut and bolt within a month of getting it but since then it's been bulletproof too. I only use it on my Corvettes though.
I hope I never have to buy another.
New guy in before thread is lockedI read every page.

"One problem with Snap-on’s evidence concerning the visual similarities between its own jacks and the Daytona is that the evidence is primarily anecdotal and consists in large part of statements made either by biased witnesses (Snap-on’s franchisees) or by unidentified Internet commenters,” Adelman wrote.
He pointed out that the commenters could be Snap-on employees, that it wasn’t possible to know if they were considering only ornamental elements and that some had also identified differences between the two models.
If Snap-On is reading this, feel free to send me one of your jacks and I will visually compare the two and post my findings...
I will keep your jack as payment for my time and effort...
LOL

I bled mine, but the level seemed a little low compared to the picture. Haven't had a chance to go buy oil.
How much did you have to add in yours?
Is it just me or have all the Daytona jacks been pulled from Ebay?
(only found 1 seller for full MSRP?)
More curious then anything.

I found 2, using Google, 1,@ $269.00, and 1,@ $249.00.Is it just me or have all the Daytona jacks been pulled from Ebay?

.......How stupid to patent the design of a floor jack that looks like every other jack before and since. It's like if I attempted to patent my design for a spoon. Function defines the appearance.
Yes, this thread will never die until someone tears apart a SO jack, but that will probably never happen...
While reading last night, I was so tempted to just skip to the last page and see the results. I honestly expected to see the Snappy insides. Maybe one day
