I had a brilliant (this is relative, just wait) thought in the shop earlier: I'm SERIOUSLY considering pulling the lid off my 54x24" KRL and smacking the Milwaukee upper right on top. Just knowing it'll make some GJ box elitists throw up in their mouths is enough to make me want to do it. I'll start a separate thread if I go through w it!

Not sure the regular retail price. Clearance is $225.06, further marked down to $75.03.

My findings have come up with that some stores have not marked these boxes down further and there's still plenty of stock at those stores.

I dunno....the last 7 years or so when even the tiny stores put in a small automotive section w bulbs, floor mats, wipers, Heet etc. For basic H1/H3 bulbs they're MUCH cheaper than O'Reilly. Ditto for basic wipers (Michelins hover around $6 ea)

They have quite a few auto products. I would think that would include oil. Perhaps NYC stores don't stock those products. I would imagine the DIY auto work market is a lot smaller in NYC than well just about any other city.

Where are you located? I'm trying to figure out when my area will possibly have the price reduction. Currently, they are sitting with a tag on them saying "TOP BOX ONLY $225.06"

not always. Might not ever get marked down, or might be a couple more weeks. Some stores clearance things out they don't normally carry after the holidays. Many things are clearanced out in every store, but somethings may not depending on store size & location. Also, the price might drop before it gets re-tagged properly.

example: 1 store in my area has the Milwaukee 1/2" High Impact marked down to $180, but the rest are still at $199 because they will continue to carry it as they are a smaller store.

How did you get the extra 10% off (no one else notice that)? Several weeks ago, the military discount & menards 15% off didn't take anything off my clearance items. The only way I didn't have a chance to try was them doing 10% off each item, but they usually hesitate doing it that way if they can do the military.

I'm going to hit up my HD tomorrow and see what I can find. They run a pretty tight ship though over at my store so penny items are hard to come by.

They did have a couple of those pass-thru ratchets and a box of misc sockets with no home going on clearance, just waiting for them to penny...

Going to check out the welder though too, and the milwaukee box...

Our HD had some wiper blades during black friday sale and that's it. The lowes though does carry a *few* car items but not much.

These are still around. They had four at my local store. Got one for my wife's new office. One for my wife's boss. And one to resell, hopefully make my money back. The employee that was helping us even gave us an extra 20% off for some reason. Got each one for about $41 out the door.

They had four at my store, all the way up on the rafters, no clearance signs or anything. My wife really needed one and so did her boss, didn't want to take a chance and wait. They got all four down from the rafters when they brought down my three, I'm thinking the fourth one was going home with the employee that helped me out.
