hello all i didnt know where else to post this so here goes...
So at the maintenance base I work at we do quite a few combustion liner and high stage turbine stage 1 and 2 boroscopes. and my job as a mech is simply to open the boro plugs.
The engine in question is a cf34-8c, and if memory serves me right I swear at the last base they always told us to use a 50/50 mix of 5606 and acetone on the boro plugs (especially the dreded s18 plug) and let it dwell for at least an hour.
So my question to you guys is do you think atf or 5606 will work better for the acetone mixed with xxxx homebrew penetrating oil.
also you might be asking why im asking about this since i work at a maintenance base for aircraft. well we have been out of kroil for two weeks now and also I remember reading that acetone and atf makes some mean penetrating oil.
