What part of Florida? I've always had good luck finding Plomb.Picked up a partial Los Angeles 3/8 socket set.
Arrows are pointing down on both side of PLVMB.
Data codes are 0C - 0B and 5B, looks like it is from the 30's ?
Dont find much in Florida.

Not exactly outsourced, but made at the Bog/Cragin facility in Chicago which by then, they owned.outsourced because they couldn't make them fast enough to comply with contract to uncle sam.

I scored a couple of Plomb pieces at the flea yesterday.
1/4" drive Craftsman (U) flex head bar - sneaking that one in.

You are not sneaking the 1/4 breaker in... Circle U was made by plvmb for craftsman... Totally within the guidelines!

Riley: WD 40 on a rag might clean it up some or at least get rid of the dirt and surface rust. if you use Simple Green be careful not to let it sit on the paint too long cause i hear it eats paint.
thanks for the pictures!!
Hard to see what is on the logo Brian... Is is paint or just dirty?

These are my favorite style sockets that I have in my tool collection. Anerican quality at it's finest. I think I may need to start collecting a set. I have quite a few brands that don't do much for me but I see some people love them.Picked up a partial Los Angeles 3/8 socket set.

Check it out, I got the 1/4 in today. its pristine condition! I wish my other two were as nice as it is! $30 to my door.
FOUR C: maybe you should start a VINTAGE SIGN restoration thread and let's get some more member's opinions and lots of pictures? i'd support it and i'm willing to learn more. i've had good luck with WD 40 removing the surface rust and so far it doesn't seem to have any ill effects on the toolboxes, cabinets and signs, but i'm not trying to sell them so i'd like to hear what collectors do or what they want to keep in tact.
if you don't want to start and host a thread like that i don't mind doing it, but as you know i have more than a few threads and would love to see some other good threads like WOODWORKING 101 that i suggested that Jim started and other threads where members that know more than i are hosting it.
I have heard that leaving a damp paper towel with Simple green on it will remove any overspray on a sign and i've only tried that on a couple things so far and it worked ok. it removed the overspray and left the original label or paint.
SMOKESHOW: i meant to post a long time ago saying your wall of tools is AMAZING. i couldn't give up that much wall space, but happy to see you can and looks like it's filling up with some quality stuff. I love the labels!! WELL DONE!!

That is tough I think they are 2 pieces the lever and the pawl. I think they are brazed together in the hole. Maybe someone else can confirm.so I got this 1/2 ratchet thats missing the thumb selector, where can I get one? just **** it up and buy a kit ?

It has the springs, both levers and the cam all inside. If I get a selector I could use my tig I guess to stick it on there... seems the selectors in the kits have a small hole where you put them over the cams nub outside the ratchet body..

Thanks for the heads up!Brian-
If you go through Lincoln City, you need to check out "days catch" in town. It has used tools with good prices on them! Also stop at the "wildflower grill", their food is the best in town! Breakfast, lunch or dinner[emoji481]
Thanks for the heads up!
