Pro Lighting LED High Bays

Anyone here tried these LED high bays from Pro Lighting?

Was thinking of getting 9 of these for my ~56x40 space with 14' sidewall scissor truss 16.5 peak. Overkill?

Any reason to stay away from these types of lights?

I mean it doesn't seem like a bad deal, but these "pre-gutted" fluorescent fixtures pre-fitted with retrofit tubes always came off as a bit cheesy.

As far as being overkill? Not even close. That's only 140,000 lumens over 2,000 square feet. Don't get me wrong, it will be tons of light, but you could realistically add another 6-9 fixtures and you'd probably still be under 100 fc light intensity.

Techbrite makes good stuff. Made in America, too. But it's still just an empty chassis with 6 LED bypass tubes. About $100 in value.

So do you guys think this is the better way to go then, given the higher cost?

I kinda like the idea of being able to replace a LED tube if one goes bad as opposed to an entire fixture. Maybe I don't need to worry about the failure rate of these.

Techbrite makes good stuff. Made in America, too. But it's still just an empty chassis with 6 LED bypass tubes. About $100 in value.

Just went to the Techbrite web site. Couldn't find a mention of made in the USA. Maybe I just missed it.

Also, looks like all of their high bays have ballasts. To me, part of the appeal of LED high bays is no ballast. One less failure point that would require me to rent a lift for repairs.

Not knocking Techbrite. Just still doing research for lighting my new garage and appreciate feedback from people who know more than me.

I would purchase one before committing. Like many of the consumer T5 fluorescent fixtures -- the light from many of these entry level LED's is too centralized / harsh.

They also make them with ballasts for those that want to use that kind of LED tube.
You're never gonna get rid of ballasts. LED's still use them, just called drivers. An LED fixture that uses light strips instead of tubes will have a driver. No-ballast LED tubes still have a driver, it's just hidden inside the tube.

Thanks CD! Made in USA would be great. I should have been more specific in my post - external ballasts.

Was not previously considering any high bays with separate tubes. Everything I've been looking at has the LEDs integrated. So much information, so many choices....
