out of the 3 I got 1 had very light damage

Don't remind me..............LOL
Still kicking myself for selling me circa 1993 Husky red top chest.
Don't remember how many drawers, But it was a full 18" deep.
EDIT,
My, that is an 18" deep one, You don't see them that often.
Man, I AM tempted.
I know I am Winlinmac................................lolbubinga is pushing it now
I was thinking about placing one on top of my bottom Waterloo rolling cart, but someone here mentioned that I'd have to bend the front flaps in order for it to properly accommodate the Husky tool chest. I actually like the Husky close feature, but I'd appreciate Home Depot to get some better packaging in there, particularly on the sides.

I know I am Winlinmac................................lol
OK, I found one at the Washington PA store, Said 0 the other day, Or No. it was limited stock, call you store.
I didn't call, but was showing 1 in stock tonight, and I had a little more money this month than I thought, So the 18" deep sold me.
You have to bend the front flaps on the 18" HD box?
Hopefully I can figure something out that will be clean looking,
Cause I want to put it on the bottom Waterloo rolling cart too!
Did you see where that box weighs like 90 lbs?![]()

The box weighs close to 100 lbs. I believe we need to bend the front flaps of the Waterloo cart. At the moment, there are a bunch of stores in New Jersey that claim to have 2-3 in stock, but that's a far drive. Factor in fuel prices and you're essentially paying full retail price.
OK, Thanks Guys, Good to know.I put mine on top of the Waterloo cart from lowes. I just tapped the ears on the front out about 1/4" and once I got the Husky on top I tapped them back flush. Fits like a glove. I'm currently putting drawer liners in it from HF. Note, you will need at least 2 rolls of the solid drawer liner. I only bought one and that barely got the 3 bottom drawers done.

I just so happened to spot one today in store intact in its box, sealed. Last piece at $49. Pretty dramatic,
I should have purchased the 26" Solid Wood in addition to it as a support layer, but I'd figure the wood would have been crushed by the shear weight of this thing.
What was its successor? Good idea on the 3/4" piece of plywood though. I would not like to tap out the front flaps on the Waterloo cart. Maybe I can get it a little bit above the brim of the rolling cabinet.
(just kidding)
I'd maybe just use a 3/4" piece of plywood, so as not to waste the nice craftsman wood tops.
Good, Glad you got one.
here is the one I sold.
It was nice.

No more additional storage for me.![]()
I know I shouldn't have.(Why I said "Don't remind me")
Not really sure about its successor, Kept that rig a good while.
Here is the bottom it was on, about 1980, 1985 I think, craftsman.
Sold the combo for $300.00
They were both nice heavy units.
Yeah, maybe just build the plywood on the bottom box up to maybe 1" and maybe the Husky 18" deep will sit even, or slight above the brim of the rolling cabinet.
I ended up with a pair and the special sale bottom box too. Took several different stores to piece a pair of sets together.
These are heavy duty and for $200 ($49 + $149) hard to beat. They are light years ahead of craftsman boxes.
It will be Ok, put a coat or 2 of Poly on the top and bottom, and 3 0r 4 on the edges, as they'll soak in more.Yep, I don't want to say it, but I'll say it, the new Craftsman Boxes (rated Heavy Duty or not) slightly disgusts me. They are truly flimsy as others have mentioned, and its quite shocking (in a good way) how the Husky boxes hold up as advertised. Not exaggerated at all. I'm still in the process of trying to fit in a 3/4" or 1" thick of wood to fit in between the top Husky and bottom Waterloo boxes. Hopefully, will not attract moisture / dampness.
That's our Craftsman, My Grandfather is rolling in his grave!I ended up with a pair and the special sale bottom box too. Took several different stores to piece a pair of sets together.

Got one, or sounds like you might have got them all?you guys just kill me. My damn local store had 4 in stock @ $49.00. At 18" deep, just had to do it. I can't believe it weighs 90 lbs. for 50 bucks. Jeeze.
Thank you.

"dodge", is that 18" deep too?And here was the upgrade regularly $119.00 and got it for the $49.00 sale price. A pretty nice box all around.

looks Good,It's a Craftsman heavy duty box. I chose to bend forward slightly the front corners of the bottom roller cabinet to make the top box fit. You could put a thin piece of masonite beneath the top box instead to avoid the sheet metal alteration.

Yeah, I got a Nice middle box "hot deals" From ENCO, was on sale, but had a few minor dents in it.Went in to my local HD today got the last one they had. box had some outside damage in the middle from where it was strapped down. anyhow decided to take a chance and brought it home. the bottom was dented in front and back making the bottom drawer tough to get out. Took a rubber mallet to it and works fine. Back is where the dent is noticeable but hey for this price i can live with some cosmetic damage. Now crossing my fingers the bottom goes on a similar sale.
Just got a call from Home Depot, the 26" box was all smashed and bashed up (even though brown cardboard box looked intact), resulting cancellation of my order without my authorization. Irony is that a good handful of reviews on their website indicate that the product packaging is a fail, worse than other big box stores. I'm a bit appalled by this, but I'd figure that it isn't a big deal. My 46" box has a slight dent on the center-midline brace and the Husky logo was partly popped out. All was easily repairable, but the way the associates described the 26" box sounded like it was beyond repair. I'm glad I wasn't fully invested into Husky's toolboxes. Its usually Craftsman, Kobalt, and HF boxes available around me,
Believe it or not, when it comes to prepping for the holidays, Home Depot / Husky doesn't do a good job inspecting the toolboxes before placing them in product packaging. Then they also come all the way from the other side of the world. At least HF does a little better job in this area. Whereas another company which also failed in the packaging sector is Waterloo. A bunch of boxes torn and damaged at Lowes prior to Black Friday resulting in managers to pull the boxes from the retail floor space during the holidays. Very few quantities were intact and functional. But I think the blame largely goes on Lowes' associates; I've seen them mishandling those $35/$50 boxes during the holidays.
looks Good,
Yeah, That is what The OP is Doing Right now.
(You could put a thin piece of masonite (Plywood I think in his case)beneath the top box instead to avoid the sheet metal alteration.)
How is that going "win"
I'm using the liner provided with the bottom Waterloo Cabinet, applying plywood on top of that (Home Depot cut the wood for me--Sande plywood $19.95--exact snug fit). I plan to use a spare liner on top of that followed by the top chest. Basically, the plywood is sandwiched between two liners.
Unfortunately, the fellow who cut the wood wasn't careful. There are visible splinters (chipped relatively easily), and the wood is not perfectly flat, a very slight warp to it. Hopefully the 100lb weight will make things right apart from an initial cracking sound as its being placed on top of the wood.
Got mine delivered, The guy waited while I inspected it, helped me turn it over.
Perfect from top to bottom.
Thought some one mentioned they didn't like having to open the top to open the drawers.
My griplatch craftsman is like that. I did the work around to that one too.
The workaround is to drive (tap Really) the 2 pins out shown in the picture.
Then Pull the metal lock strips out, and store them in the top if you ever need to reinstall them.
Is it just me, or is there some type of magnet or spring that pulls the draws shut the last 1nch or so. Man they really close.
Very happy with the box. Hope you guys are correct, they blow out the bottom one next. Is that the 27" one, they have a lot of now, 7 Drawer I think it was?.
Got one, or sounds like you might have got them all?
Supposed to ship mine tomorrow, I did call the guy back, and asked to please check it before shipping, as all the reviews and comments of dents on here.
He never called me back.
Hope mine is OK?
I've checked out to 500-miles from my home zip code-----no joy! None available.

Yes it is a tank.Thank you, but no. I only bought one. It is a tank!
Bummer......I've checked out to 500-miles from my home zip code-----no joy! None available.

I don't see why they wouldn't price match the other Lowe's?The website probably won't tell you if they are on clearance like that. The website says none are in my store, yet I've seen like 3 or 4 (and they are at $99!!!)...
Best to call stores near you with the SKU and ask them to check their inventory.
Very nice.I finally got my 3 made into a workbench... my plan is tomorrow to hit lowes up and find a nice top for it
Now was there a separate price on the top and bottom?I've also noticed them in the stores set up as combos with the bottom but maybe if you put just the top on a car and wheeled it up they'd let you have it

Let me know of you need a picture of the recipet (sp?)

Already Noted, But Mine was perfect.Be sure to inspect the box before you leave the store. According to reviews, many found dents towards the bottom of this tool chest which made it difficult to remove the bottom drawer. Some were able to get a further discount as a result, YMMV
I got that card too, Mine was a Top in a box sealed up.thanks for the offer but I got 3 and that was plenty for me! and no prices on any of the boxes at the store I picked my last box up from. I'm pretty sure the one they set back for me was from a combo bc it had the combo feature card stuffed in the bottom drawer
