Its a Kromex, a subsidiary brand of Coventry's in Australia, they are quite cheap compared to what else is available out here, I think it was $200 as opposed to about $350 for other brands. It has 4 drawers I think and a bit of open space at the top. Our service carts aren't HF either but Hafco, they probably buy them from the same place in china, they aren't cheap out here though, $370 on special or $440 not.

More info on the box please? I like it!

It's a duracraft 6 drawer tool chest, it matches well, you have to take the lid off and remove the drawer locks and then slide it inside, I actually slid the lid into place and it looks much better, I'll post some pics in a little bit. I got about 150 total invested in the toolboxes.

Do you have the Harbor Freight part number for the seven drawer? Does it bolt up?

Ok... You don't need a part number... It's the HF 7 drawer side cabinet. HF uses different part numbers at their whim... making part numbers kinda sorta not worth anything.

Does it bolt up??? You may have to fabricate by drilling a hole or two... etc.

I found coupons for the 5 drawer tool cart for anyone that needs it. Screen shots from your mobile device are valid in store.

I'm trying to search out coupons for the folding side table & 7 drawer side cabinet.
I just saw today that HF has a black folding side table for the 4 drawer tool cart now as well. It's part number 63470. The web page has not been updated with it but it is available.

Thanks! I didn't know they had a side table for the 4 drawer black model. I have never seen the folding table for the 5 drawer red version on sale.

20% coupon... will probably work all day long on the side table

Might have to paint the red one black... check that it fits tho... never tried it.

I have the red 5 drawer with the 7 drawer cart bolted to it.

Yes, you do have to drill some holes, either 2 or 4 depending on how you go about it.

I also made a frame for under both.

True its not going to fall over just sitting there pretty much no matter how you load it.

If you are rolling it across a floor and hit a small rock or bolt or whatever it might be a different story.

Your guys are bad for me, I went out and bought one today.
Couldn't wait to get it home, but, drove the car today and not the truck and after buying it and it wouldn't fit, had to leave it and will pick up tomorrow! Drive the truck dummy next time when you go buying stuff for the garage!!!

Mike - I assume you went to the RT 3 store in Fredericksburg? If so, you were less than a mile from my house. I started this thread 5 years ago, I'm amazed at how popular it continues to be. You should come by for a visit when you are in town!

My 5 drawer red cart has sat in the back of the garage, ever since I bought it, and contained only a hodgepodge of misc.

Yesterday I played Tetris with the single car garage full of stuff, and finally dragged it out and emptied it.

Today I started stocking it.

Where I am, my garage is a small 1 car, stuffed with things, and no room for a car. I have been working in the street, but it's a pain to bring each tool out and take them back in whenever I took a break. So I stored the most used ones in the trunk of the car in the driveway.

The new plan is to work on vehicles in the driveway and pull the cart out for convenience, and roll it back in when I take a break.

My 42" HF roller is just a few feet further in the garage, so less often used tools can stay there. And I'm not doing major work like engine and trans. Just brakes and front end and typical maintenance. So this cart only needs basic stuff in it. No need for electrical tools or supplies etc. And it can be resupplied for different uses anyway. No need to put everything in it, That's what the roller is for. For electrical, I want to put together a hand carry plastic box I can just throw up on the cart or take out on it's own.

Some of the mods in this thread would definitely make it more serviceable (Pun intended). A shelf, drawer lock disabling, hanging hook for creeper and better ways to store tools efficiently inside and out would help. Side cabinet not needed, and the bottom tray can just be used for bulky things and parts. Right now I have a ball joint set and accessory set and front end parts there.

So let me make a list of what I want to put in and on it:

TBD...

Pry bars
Breaker bars
Impact sockets metric deep
Impact sockets metric standard
Impact sockets metric swivel
Combo wrenches metric long
Red shop cloths
Paper towels
Brake cleaner
Kroil
PB Blaster
Black spray paint
Anti-seize
Brake grease
Brake tools
Brass hammer
Rubber hammer
Impact gun
Air ratchet
Air hose
Electric extension cord
Work lights
Wire brushes
Picks
Die grinder and Rowlocs
Grease gun
Bearing grease
Hex keys metric
Hex socket set metric
Torx socket set
Locking extensions
Wobble extensions
Ratchets
Headlamp
Scanner
Flashlight
Hand cleaner
Pliers
Screwdrivers
Tubing cutter
Flaring kit
Torque wrenches 3

When I go to use it, I'll throw the rolling stool on it upside down. Might like a thick rubber mat on top so I can toss jack stands on it too. Jack is aluminum, so I can drag out by the handle. Need a chock too.

Pines,
Wow! Do you use it as your main toolbox?

My aim is to put as little as possible on it. No punches or chisels or electrical. Brake tools only when doing brakes unless there is room. Just a few screwdrivers and a couple of pliers.

Parking Lot Sale 10-12 March. The 5 drawer is on sale for $149.99

I'm picking one up tomorrow for $159.99. Would love to save the $10 but I have ZERO free weekends in March and first part of April so either I get it this weekend or don't get it until mid-April at the earliest.

All my pliers, wrenches, a couple hammers, all my sockets 1/4-3/4 and ratchets, extensions, my air tools, multimeter, etc are in the 4 drawer, my Milwaukee 3/8 and 1/4 hex impact, and 3/8 ratchet hang off the side, my two magnetic lights are on the side, my rolling seat is locked to the bottom, and my big prybar is in the handle, I have it pretty loaded down and it rolls well, and the drawers are definitely heavy but still slide

Yup main box. I have three 26" towers for my mini wall of craftsman for most of my tools but the cart is my workhorse

The cart rarely moves...

If it is enough to motivate you and you find the time, they will price match within something like 30 or 60 days

I thought I posted this yesterday, but I don't see it here. You are a candidate for a big wheel conversion to whatever cart you get. The best thing is because the casters are so heavy, this actually adds to stability.

Thanks! Evansville Indiana store let me use this coupon from your post yesterday, on the same transaction they let us use a 20% off on the side table and the magnetic spray can holder saved just over $25.00 total.

Fully assembled it last night, planning my modifications now.

Just picked up the 4 drawer model on sale for $99. Filled it up with my stash of HF tools. This will be my "around the house/bike" box and is replacing a Kobalt workbench that I no longer need.

No mods yet, but possibly looking at a Sunex folding tray for the future.

Still need a few socket sets, wrenches, and pliers. Totally happy with the quality of the cart.

Why not check out the hf side tray for the black cart? I think its a new item.

They have those now? Got a part number? When I was in my store yesterday I only saw the red one.

I'll keep my eyes peeled today when I go back for more sockets and pliers.

A simple stamped sheetmetal item priced for 1/3 the price of the tool box itself has me shaking my head.
