I finally got my four post Forward lift in, and i absolutely LOVE it!! Did a full brake job and installed a trailer hitch on my wife's car this weekend, and I could actually walk when it was all done. Knees weren't shot and my back actually felt pretty damn good. By far this is the best tool ever!!! One draw back I am finding is the supplied steel ramps, damn, those things are heavy!! I think they are like 40 lBs each easy. Real PITA to move and store. Looking at other lifts and it seems like the mounting on most is pretty similar, flat part of ramp slides into slot on the end of the ramp, I assume somewhere someone make an aluminum version. Forward actually make them but they are super long for low clearance vehicles. I like the lengths of the steel ones, just a little over 31 inches. Anyone know of good one? Definitely will be an upgrade, if I can get them off the shelf I am going to go to a fab shop and have some made up, but I assume with the slew of 4 posters that are out there someone already has them. Probably be cheaper to buy off the shelf than have custom made. Appreciate any insight.

I found it was a combination of weight and awkward size that made the ramps hard to deal with. Adding handles helped a lot and now they can be carried around like a suitcase. I found the center of gravity (balance point) of the ramp and placed the handles there so the ramps would hang level when carrying them.

I use Race Ramps. Only weigh 9 lbs each. Easy for the wife to use if she had to move a car while I was gone.

I just stumbled across them on line, they look really interesting, are they all Polystyrene? even the hook? Wish they had a 20 inch wide one that wasn't 48 inches, but at that weight, wow, they could be stashed anywhere, also like the fact that they probably would destroy a paint job with a minor mistake!!!

Yeah, that is a really good Idea, it would make storage easier as well. Thanks!! Even those look lighter than mine, how much do they weigh?

I priced aluminum ramps and decided to go this route with a plasma cutter. Lightened them up and made nice holes to lift them.

Interested in how light the Swiss cheese version is as well.

I've wanted the aluminum ones since I picked one up. They are freaking light!

It lightened each ramp just over 8 lbs. It's really makes them easy to move with the holes. I never leave them attached when the lift is in the air. One dent in the head was enough.
