but after M George posted the other link I see those too, yes those will work. Another good source. Thanks gents.
Thanks Torqueman, I pickup the new wheels I ordered tomorrow and anxious to put my 1/2 horse to work. And yes, started reading this thread two weeks ago and already have two or them.
Take a look at post #1 above for help 'IDing' a Block grinder.I saw a Craftsman Grinder for sale at a pawn shop yesterday and was thinking about buying it but wanted to find more information. The grinder looked exactly like the one pictured here on the right (Post #456). It had the glass shields in tact and a grinder on one side with a wire brush on the other.
I do not remember the specs or model number but the label was black not red. Does that signify anything? Looking online for an example.
Now that is a model number I haven't seen before.Just picked this up - Looking for info on it. Is the base & tool rest correct? What size wheels would this have come with?
I don't collect these, but hadn't seen a 3/4hp in the wild before. Figured I should bring it home.

Labels are done from my supplier and I have to say he knocked it out of the park again. Just has to round the corners. Can't wait to get these one.
Wow those are nice. What did you say the cost would be for him to print them?
Mine is slightly different it's 1/2HP but I do have the adobe file for it that I could give him.
Yup, that's the real deal. Congratulations.
Be sure to replace the stone with a new one.
So many Blocks, so little money and time.
Some of the Block labels will say, but the 1/2-HP flat top Blocks I have seen have been 7" dia, with 1/2" arbor, and I think 1" wide. 36 Grit, Coarse & 60 Grit, Fine - Vitrified Aluminum Oxide.Looking for stones now. Trying to figure out the right one and size to pick up.
Yes, there's a date more often than not, but not always. So the born on date that's usually stamped on the bottom of the these grinders. Has anyone come across any grinders with stock bottoms not being stamped? Ive received two now with no "born on date".

So I finally got the reproduction labels in oh man are they 99.9% accurate. Ok maybe not 99.9% but damn close . Minus the radius on the corner they look almost exactly like they would new, fresh out of the box. Can't wait to get this bad boy on

The old one looks darn good compared to some I have![]()

how did you print the label?
The addiction is real!! I didn't believe it could happen to me but I can now admit I have a Craftsman Grinder addiction. It's real and if your not careful it will get you too..
Picked it up for $30.
I wasn't sure what the one I have I got for $30.00 (and a hetic drive) was?The addiction is real!! I didn't believe it could happen to me but I can now admit I have a Craftsman Grinder addiction. It's real and if your not careful it will get you too..

The most accurate statement I have ever heard in regards to finding these gems in the wild...
Of course, like real estate, it's all about Location.
What else can you buy for $30 that is so much fun to restore and use?
I love getting Blocks for $10 per 0.10-HP!!
I've paid more and I've paid less, but that's my rule of thumb for these parts.

Nice find!
Looks like a 1/4-HP cast iron guy.Bought today.
