AK stated in the follow up show that many of the tools used Gas Monkey's early builds actually belonged to AK. It was also stated that many were old/used and abused, yet still worked as that's what he was able to afford at the time.

I have to disagree with the assessment of the business models for OCC and GMG. Sometimes, you make as much money as you can, as quickly as you can (branding, etc), before the fad fades. Teutel's (and possibly Rawlins', it remains to be seen) is how fast they spend the money coming in. OCC was bound to fail eventually, that style of bike, while still popular in some circles, does not have the popularity it used to, if they had saved a quarter of the money they made during the peak, they would have been okay.

I meant the business, (which I think survived, but went through a pretty nasty bankruptcy, but I don't follow it all that closely)

I'm not surprised that he's using blue point sockets. I mean he worked out of that red Husky 40 some inch top & Bottom tool box for several years:dunno:
If it works, it works. Sockets are one area though where the quality gap between brands is pretty close.

dont let the badge fool you. that old husky pro is a mac tools box in disguise for a whole lot cheaper. they were both manufactured by beech at the time

As much as I can't stand RR now, you can't hate him for all the money/move's he has made. More power to him. Milk that ***** for all its worth.

Also, OCC is still in business and doing just fine. The rumor of OCC being up for sale was incorrect. The building OCC leased space from was for sale. Who ever the new owner of the building is now receives rent from OCC until the original contract is up. Other than that, Paul Jr, Paul Sr, Mikey and all the rest at OCC are set for life. I don't care how many lawsuits there are against them.

Yep, family dysfunction and yelling at people is very lucrative for ratings.

Never really noticed the sockets because basic hand tools don't make much of a difference when it comes to complex car builds. Sure, I may notice a bright tool or a logo but typically it's stuff like the sheet metal tools or the lathe or the welders that catch my eye.

A MAC Economizer (the beach made model) isn't a MAC box:lol:

Why laugh? Educate me. All the older husky pro boxes were made in Canada as some of Mac's boxes of the era. I had a Mac top and a husky bottoms. Exact same box other than the label. Seen a few more at sales and in friends garages that tell me the same.

Way off topic here, but some of the boxes Beach made for other brands were solid good boxes. I have friction slide Gray top box and it has the smoothest slides of any box except a Snap-on road box.

A good mechanic is rich in knowledge, the tools just apply the knowledge to a certain extent :)
