Any idea how those do with hardened steel?
About the only time I use zipcuts is when it's something that would hurt my bandsaw, and I don't want to use the torch for some reason.

I haven't used them on hardened steel, yet, but with them being diamond I assume it should be good to go. I will try it tomorrow on a cold chisel and report back.

Old file would work too

I'd be interested in trying one sometime anyways. I've got a good stock of abrasives wheels (Walter and klingspore, and off brand) but they don't last forever.

Nothing replaces cutting wheels like a vertical bandsaw though. Hardly used them since

Got some tools for my 5 yr old son to help me do some little projects. He loves green (as he calls it, Hulk color) and picked them out. We were making some brackets last night and he kept saying Hulk smash. :rocker:

Got 2 new decals from Wilton too for my resto project.

No luck finding an oil funnel that fits my Ford 4.6 engine. Three styles of filler necks that say fit Ford. Not one of them say which Fords they fit.

Does your 4.6L have a Motorcraft EC755 Oil Cap?

nwfxb5.jpg

I know the Motorcraft EC755 fits several yrs models with Ford 4.6L 281cuin (and it also fits many years Ford 7.5L, 7.3L, 6.8L, 6.0L, 5.8L, 5.4L, 5.0L, 4.2L, 4.0L, 3.8L, 3.0L, 2.5L, just to name a few), and I've used the adapter in the Lisle 19342 multi-app oil funnel set on several Fords that use that cap.

Thanks WWheeler, that should work. I found 3 different items that said the fit Ford but none said which Ford they fit. Yes my 4.6 uses the EC755 oil filler spout.

You may end up regretting that pro link. To each his own tho.

I would have looked into a Texa TXT or even Autels CV scan tool, at 30-50% of the cost of a pro link, more functionality and cheaper yearly updates.

Ok here is the results. The Lenox Metalmax blades can cut through hardened steel and a Cobalt drill bit. It is a little slower than regular steel but it still can be done. Also is a comparison of a blade that probably has about 500 cuts on it and a brand new blade. I used the used blade for the test FYI.

Good to know! I'll have to try one of those sometime. I'll look through my catalogs and see who sells them. One for the 7" would be nice

Two items today:

Small pick set from Gearwrench replaces an old cheap set I had that had two of the four break and, finally, the X-frame SK metric set. Rarely do I get a new tool or set of tools to replace something that is functioning, but I've had my eye on these for a while, and sadly the answer to why I got them is "just because." The action on the wrenches feels like butter. Extremely smooth. Putting them to the test this weekend on a project on an old Volvo 240.

I've been a big fan of my x-frames. Hoping they will eventually introduce off set versions and ones with on/off levers just to diversify the offering.

That's exactly what I am hoping for, but my bank account is terrified of! If that happens may have to sell off some of my stuff...or kids...

Was an inexpensive weekend, Picked up a CM-USA 8 point socket, CM-USA DOE Wrench, A Wizard Socket and a pair of Wizard pliers, all for $2.00

Then I stopped at Tractor Supply, for $16, I got the pair of 90 degree locking pliers and a pair if Knipex knockoffs
