They don't exactly do the highest quality work on most of these DIY TV shows. They usually do all the work in just a couple of days. Which makes it pretty much impossible to do something with really good craftsmanship.
But I still catch most of these shows and enjoy them thoroughly.
This was probably the best they've done on Garage Mahal so far though.
Guy is probably my favorite Food Network personality.
Overall it was really good.
Would like to see more garages for woodwork / automotive use, etc.. Instead of trying to turn a garage into a living space - and still be used as a garage. It's hard to imagine that working out long term.
And like mentioned, it does seem like they only do celebrity remodels now on Man Caves and it might be that way with Garage Mahal now..
And yea, I looked into having my house featured on a DIY show when we first moved in. (House was, and still is a big fixer upper).. But of course I found out real quick you have to pretty well pay for everything. And they make you subcontract pretty much any plumbing/electrical, etc.. So once they come in your house, you probably have no control over the budget.
Other than shows like Yard Crashers and House Crashers. Would be great to get all of that free work, but again.. They do all the work in like 2 days, so it's not exactly super good quality. But, it's free.. So you certainly can't complain too much.
