I just watched this episode of Mancaves. They used a truck grill on the rolling bar,a truck bed and 2 Chevelle hoods on acctuators that has flatscreen tvs behind them! They also did the bottom walls with my favorite, diamondplate! lots of neat stuff! It's on again at 9:30pm central time. I know it's more a party room! because he has another garage next to this one!

I know this is cool to alot of folks.................but to me its lame.

Ya want a room like this, do it in the attic or basement. Leave the garage as a garage.

Even though he has another garage, Id still like to see both as garages filled with cars/tools

that wagon is bitchin.... he's a tv chef guy tho, he is using the space to entertain. think about it, the garage is usually the largest open space in someones house to use as a venue. i see the logic

Well if you watch the show, the other garage has a Cobra,a Camaro,Chevelle, and is just as nice as this one! I get it! but you wouldn't shut the door if they came and said they wanted to do your garage!

**** my shed is full of machines and tools...If I want to have a party . It's outside around the barby. You piss behind the shed and the women go inside the house. If I want a sideshow I'll hire one....there's plenty around at christmas time with lots of lights and fluff.

The bitching on here, I think there'd be bitching if somebody gave everybody carte blanche to build the shop of their dreams.
I think it is way cool and what I've seen of his show on Food TV, he isn't your uptight chef/host. When and if I get my big shop built, my current 1100 SF shop will become a play area with parking for three.

It's not free.....

I applied to the show a while back. I was asked to send in pics of the space, ideas for the design, and most importantly, the BUDGET I had in mind with a side note of "we do contribute a chunk to the build".

It sounded like they were interested in doing it and like my ideas, but this season has been all celebrity "caves", so nothing came of it I think they sold out if you ask me. What millionaire can't afford to just hire someone to build their "man cave"? They did one for Snoop Dog for god's sake. That guy probably has several Man HOUSES, the hell with a cave.

It was a lot more interesting when they gave it to a derserving guy who put his family above himself his whole life. It's alot more special than a guy throwing money at a bare spot in his house.

I agree 100% It seems like people have an automotive themed party spot, they call a garage...

I just watched this episode of Mancaves.

Garagemahal. Mancaves had the Yankee fan's basement reno.

Well if you watch the show, the other garage has a Cobra,a Yellow Camaro, Yellow Chevelle, and is just as nice as this one!

you forgot the Yellow Lambo. he REALLY likes yellow.

i watched this and was fairly disappointed at the end product. must have not wanted to really flex his celebrity wallet. the ideas were kind of there, but in the end, i think it looks more like an Applebee's, with all the random theme stuff tossed up on the walls. i've seen much better execution in the gallery of this forum. yet again, money cannot buy taste.

I couldn't remember the 4th car[not really into the exotics] but hey! I looked cool! Like I said it was a hangout!! not a real garage! I have seen some on here that have the hangout area. I also agree a bit Applebees but I guess you can't please everyone! So if you stop by mine you can wizz behind the garage and the gals would be in the house already! chatting up in the kitchen!

They don't exactly do the highest quality work on most of these DIY TV shows. They usually do all the work in just a couple of days. Which makes it pretty much impossible to do something with really good craftsmanship.

But I still catch most of these shows and enjoy them thoroughly.

This was probably the best they've done on Garage Mahal so far though.

Guy is probably my favorite Food Network personality.

Overall it was really good.

Would like to see more garages for woodwork / automotive use, etc.. Instead of trying to turn a garage into a living space - and still be used as a garage. It's hard to imagine that working out long term.

And like mentioned, it does seem like they only do celebrity remodels now on Man Caves and it might be that way with Garage Mahal now..

And yea, I looked into having my house featured on a DIY show when we first moved in. (House was, and still is a big fixer upper).. But of course I found out real quick you have to pretty well pay for everything. And they make you subcontract pretty much any plumbing/electrical, etc.. So once they come in your house, you probably have no control over the budget.

Other than shows like Yard Crashers and House Crashers. Would be great to get all of that free work, but again.. They do all the work in like 2 days, so it's not exactly super good quality. But, it's free.. So you certainly can't complain too much.

I watched the show the other night. I liked the idea of the graphics on the cabinet doors, I thought it looked kind of cool. I wonder how much all that ended up costing??
