My local battery supply place. I didn't even specify a color that's just what they brought me

I've been admiring my neighbors older husky box. It has friction slides but the price was right as I caught him just after he loaded it to take it to his storage unit, $0. I offered him cash he said take it but I'll buy him a bottle of scotch.

It's very rigid and good quality, I looked for stamping but found no markings.

Red

Is that the BG 86? I have that and it does work great. Mine is the easy to pull version and has the shredder leaf bag that is surprisingly effective. I moved and now just use tarps, so need something like your back blower. Nice stuff!

Got these off Amazon for ~ $25 each. The sizes are stamped on each piece. Made in USA by S&W Manufacturing.f99f1128097e7044e0e4f1809dde98ad.jpge2475e81a9f28cbee2393202ead6fb96.jpg

I have those thread checkers... same set of sizes... I took them off the wire and made a "holder" for them that is contained in a plastic box with a handle... OMG I use them ALL THE TIME.

On the wire... they are a bit of a pain to use...

picture?

^^^ Those bags are great major +1. I must have 20 of the larger ones and a few of those... can't be beat for the price and local availability.

was uploading as you typed... While yours are black for metric... the larger size metric for me has the blue nail polish the larger SAE has red... I also dotted my two most used SAE sizes with red.

I have those thread size checkers and always felt the wire necklace was stupid.
I think I will cut off the wire, and just keep them in a small box.
Thanks for the idea

No pic's before it got put to work on an emergency project helping a friend - sawed the ends off a construction site trench box - would have been nice to use a torch, but being in suburbia hell means nothing like that available last second on a Saturday and I wasn't about to borrow the torch from work and spend 4 hours driving around....I will say it cuts pretty darn good with a fresh blade, but they don't last long cutting 1/4 wall tubing in mud / rocks / asphalt debris!

I got a Makita DSS501Z 18V sircular saw today. I also got a blade for cutting metall for it. It is very light weight and the blade is 136mm.

Got them all on Amazon. I found them searching large thread checker. I swear, I stopped putting them away, I use them so much... I never have to guess... I check before selecting any fastener.

I don't understand why you use thread checker so much.
I only use them when I want to replace rusty bolts and do not know their size.

This is going back a few pages, but can anyone give me any info on the IR third battery promo? How do you get the extra battery? Is the 5132 model eligible?

Thanks,
Robert

Yes thats true. Depends how often you are doing it I suppose. I only deal with sae 90+% of the time at work so I am pretty familiar with it. You can generally tell just by looking at it with experience. If not you can measure the diameter and threads per inch with a scale.

That said, metric and pipe threads I am not nearly as familiar with. So while I probably wouldnt purchase those thread checks posted, a good thread pitch gauge or multiple ones for checking metric and pipe threads I find very useful.

I am not a car guy... I make things... I fix things... I make them better. It's pretty much all I do. It requires a lot of fabrication with fasteners ... since I reuse old items in the fabrication of new items I am constantly running into things needing to be changed out.

Currently I am rebuilding an outdoor kitchen cooler that used galvanized hardware... it's all becoming stainless... I could have just winged it with whatever but it's nice knowing I can select the exact size replacement.

It's how I roll.
