I'm not sure this fits heating/cooling but I do want to move some air. Does anyone have a 20-30 inch shutter type exhaust fan that is relatively balanced and would recommend? There are so many choices out there I'm getting frustrated. Thanks
Consider building a plywood box on inside, NOT outside, w a sliding 1/4" ply door if needed in winter, and a slide in screen for summer, slide out to hose clean quickly, slide back in.. done.
Modify that idea if in severe winter climate. Marc
Looks like a solidly built shop. Where did you buy the fan?
Thanks for the input guys, I like the idea of USA made and also the pricepoint on the J and D stuff.
Marc: I am near the east coast of NC. More worried about cold air leaking out in the summer. I was thinking of building some type of interior box like that.
RAYJAY: Can you take some pics of your cover on the inside?
If poultry is raised in your area check with a equipment supply company, there are lots of choices out there
Thank's,
I love my shop. We always have a build going on of some kind. I bought the fan from this co. http://www.globalindustrial.com/g/hvac/exhaust-fans/exhaust-and-supply/jd-es-shutter-fans-93545
In your shop build thread you indicated you put a variable speed switch on the fan. Can your provide some details of the switch?
Worked great until I looked up at it a couple of years ago on a -5 degree February afternoon and saw light (and cold air) streaming through the shutters while the fan was off.
