Looks like my NOS/MIB Block rack will be needing another space

IKR but on the other hand ebay has over 40 listings for "craftsman bench grinders-used" most are so-so, a few nice ones but most are over priced, IMHO and not too many pristine ones, anyone else notice the flood of these on ebay?Sure has been quite around these here parts. I know for myself I've been busy with summer stuff, work and other bigger machines
I'll open & use it.
Ooops, sorry it's gone. The BlockGo ahead and just slap a UPS label on that NIB 6" torqueman and have it sent to me house....I'll open & use it.

No wonder a guy like me can't find anything!! Between you and torqueman you guys are sucking up all the goodies..haha![]()
Not as far as I know; but, then I didn't know they made a 3-phase, or a model with a Brake.Did they ever make a 1725 RPM block?

What can I help you with my son...

That's the attachment bracket for a CM sharpener.Saw this block today and was wondering what the attachment clamped on was. ....
Heehee.LMAO!! That picture never gets old. ....

I tried to give one away - for the cost of shipping.Not a lot of those tube steel stands. I'm guessing they weren't a big seller. I have a 1/2hp that came with one and it's kind of flimsy.

Speaking of party, damn its hot down here, miserable and just when your steaming another inch or two of rain
More block goodness today:
So I'm tying to complete my craftsman block grinder stand collection, now I need only one to have the 4 different models they made, this lil one arrived this week;
and this lil spotless 1/4hp block from 1975 via joe.striper on ebay, super sweet lil grinder, could not pass it up;
back;
and they they hooked up;
End of the block story

I didn't have much in it, basically shipping and like $10, now I just need the metal cabinet type, one in GA w/ a block on ebay but the guy wont ship, and he sells other grinders like baldor too and wont ship any of themI tried to give one away - for the cost of shipping.
It wound up in the re-cycle bin.![]()
Here's one, under neath a 1-HP m-257.191600 Go Blue!What does the metal cabinet type look like?
Yes it's quite sturdy.Pretty cool cabinet. Is it sturdy? Love the Labs, and War Eagle!

Not mine and pic is off the web...I like the crown logo, and I'll probably be on the lookout for one of those stands. I built a stand for my first CM grinder, but now I have another with no stand. I was thinking of putting some metal on the sides/back, and making the front open for accessories and tools.
I saw your Michigan motif, and it reminded me of my college: The university of Alabama=Auburn. War Eagle!
I think that's a great piece with the stand especially. Those stands are selling for more then $125 alone.

Hi All,
I've been looking for a bench grinder for a while now. I am not a "craftsman block grinder" collector, I just want a solid grinder for general shop use. I see these old C-man blocks are durable & well made.
This one popped up locally for $125. Supposedly it is essentially brand-new. The guy just took it out of the original box a month or two ago and mounted it on the stand and used it a bit. The photos seem to support the story as it looks pretty much brand new. He believes it was purchased new in the mid 70's.
Here are two photos. Is this a solid price? I plan to pick it up tomorrow, just want to make sure Its a solid deal.
Welcome to the U **** club! which means you got an excellent deal we wish we would have got, lolHi All,

I have come across more than 1 Block that would still be working if it had a fuse.I'm moving my grinder to a different base so I figured I would snap a couple pics. Back when I first got it I added an inline fuse in the base. As you can see it is wired between where the black (hot) wire comes in and goes to the power switch.
For my 1/2 HP model I'm using an 8-amp slow blow / time delay. I think I tried some smaller sizes (it's been a while) and I do remember a couple burning out (I don't even remember if they were slow blow or not), but this size was available at Home Depot and has worked flawless, even under heavy grinding.
Figure this is better than nothing if something shorts out.

Great deal! Better hurry and land it.
