FREE Craftsman Table Saw and Compressor (Woodland Hills, CA)

That is an amazing saw. I wonder if she would let me take the saw only. That base underneath is just as nice too but no chance of fitting my sedan. O well, I think the bellsgarden guy probably already got it.

Thanks macgee, also hope a member here gets it.

Meanwhile, in Morgan Hill CA there's an interesting vintage craftsman vise for $25:

https://sfbay.craigslist.org/sby/tls/d/antique-craftsman-anvil-vise/6228151199.html

Larry,

You're on fire, that vise is highly desired. That's a Craftsman 5196 or 5197 vise, pretty much the most collectable Craftsman vise model and fetch very good money. The really large ones get stupid money.

Example, not that they'll get it but you get the idea: http://www.ebay.com/itm/172750026347?rmvSB=true

With your eye for value, that compliment means something! If you could, keep a watch on I-5, and let us know if you see a white van from Bell Gardens rumbling north...

Hopefully one of us will grab that vise, but in the back of my mind is the possibility that this is a scam.
Call me a pessimist but...

Even for the SFO Bay, $25 for this package is WAY too good to be true.

Not too long ago was a guy on the local C/L listing nice drill presses for super cheap prices apparently for his own amusement.

Somebody needs to jump on that ASAP, it has the very rare middle pulley system (Jack Shaft) for very slow speeds for thick metal cutting and it looks to be in excellent condition.

Great find Larry

That DP IS nice!
Not a Bad looking home made guard either, but I'd probably have to take it off. Too cool looking without it.

The Craftsman vise guy hasn't returned my latest email either. Listing is still active.

Has anybody thought that he just left off a zero when he entered the price and is too embarrassed to admit it?

If it turned out to be a 5197 in decent shape, $250 would be a fair price out here.

There's one easy way to screw with the bells garden guy. If a seller is selling or giving away a hot item, someone here could easily send them a text or email and warn them first not to sell to the guy with phone number ending in 8329. That is assuming he uses that number to call sellers.

as a seller, why would i do that? if he meets my price, and comes right down to get it, why should i care what he is doing with it?

people giving things away or charging very little are primarily interested in getting rid of something, not making sure it goes to a good home.

if it was a really good deal, they would probably have multiple offers in the same day, so why sell to a guy with a bad rep.

because selling on craigslist is full of people saying "can you hold it until next week?" and "i'll take it, but can i give you a check (for 25$?)", or "i'll take it, can you bring it over?".

maybe our boy calls and says "i can be there in an hour with cash".

you assume that he has a bad rep. from a seller's point of view, he might have a stellar rep: he moves quickly, shows up immediately, doesn't dicker, and pays cash.

i am not saying i agree with him, or his game plan. all i am saying is that there is nothing he is doing that is illegal, or really immoral. these forums are full of people talking about how they buy things at stores for pennies on the dollar (check the lowes thread for talk about the dremel markdowns). you might assume that the guy who buys 8 dremels for 2$ each is going to resell at least some of them for a large profit. this isn't really different, at least to me.

Seller said it's sold. Don't know why the ad is still active.

Craftsman Electronic 10" table saw - $100 (Riverside, CA)

It's not free and it's definitely not a Unisaw, more of a novelty but it's kind of cool. Owners say that it actually works and repeatable. Controls height & angle via keyboard. .1 degree angles & .001" height.

Ryobi Table BT3000 saw with stand for sale - $50 (Los Angeles)

Again, this is not a Unisaw but they do have a strong following and its own fan website. $50 is cheap and I see a Delta 22-580 13” finish thickness planer with new blades stashed underneath the cart that probably could be had for very little based on the table saw price.

Ryobi Table saw with stand for sale, I don't use it anymore and need to make room in my garage

Late to the party, But You take that craftsman saw, upgrade the fence,
and you have you a nice little saw.
I had a saw with the very same fence, not the electronic raise and tilt, but other than that the same saw basically. I upgraded the fence, got about 5 craftsman acurra rip fences and 2 rail sets, (only one rail set fit these fences though) and 2 1/4" drive craftsman air ratchets, one was new, at an auction for $10.00!!!
anyways put the acurra fence and rails on my 113.XXXXXX saw, and Had a nice unit.

Found this listed in the "Free" section this morning. It's now in the small garage and full already.
