Don, you will always have an open invitation. As for the health problems, a way of telling us the pace may be too intense for our well worn machinery. Like the fine works of art we so lovingly hold dear, we must now cruise and enjoy the ride now, as we are already running the race with time. That being said, keep moving, and I know you will, but pace yourself; take care of that heart;its a good one!

Thanks for the invitation Bolens
I will be slowed down for a few weeks i'm sure

Yes sir, take care. Can't put off to much when it comes to the heart. I just spent 4 days in the heart hospital because of A-Fib, my heart beats were 166bpm. So it was beating like a jack rabbit.

Herb
Sorry to hear that you had to check into the expensive hotel too.
What did they do to you??
my heart was in A-Fib too but only hitting around 30 beats a minute this time.
So they went in and burned out several spots on my heart to get it back in rythum.

You're pretty good at taking care of machinery, so listen to the master mechanic working on your ticker. Just no fun to have equipment problems slow you down.

Booths and Fatburger sign look great! You sure know how to do things the right way:bowdown:

Thanks Andy
My wife is listening to the master mechanics and has me under house arrest
The Doc told me to take it easy and not lift anything for a while and she took him serious and has me strapped to my chair.

Don, well, thats no way to end a vacation, a cruise is supposed to relax you, although 3 weeks on a ship with no tools or anything to restore could be a bit stressfull :eyecrazy:. If you need anything, if I can give you a hand, you know I'm only 45min. away, don't hesitate to call me. Love the ice cream parlour idea, although it's probably going to keep Ann busy with strawberry shakes :bounce::drool:

Hi Jeff
It's nice to know you are still around, haven't heard from you in some time.
Thanks for that generous offer I may take you up on it.

Don, vacations are dangerous things. I loved to travel but it has become such a stressful hassle that I dread it now.

Now that you have turned so many of us into Party Garage Junkies, you have to continue to supply us. We're happy to take smaller doses so do whatever you need to do to restore your health.

Thanks Bob
This trip turned out to be a disaster. 2 days out and my cpap machine shorted out from the ships electricity system that meant no more sleep.
Then the A/C system puked out black sutt all over the bed one night and then died no a/c the rest of the trip then the room filled up with methane gas and we were 86ed from the room for the day while they tried to fix that but when we returned the smell was still there. Good thing we had a large suite on the ship so we could leave the door open and have a fan blowing in the sea breeze the rest of the trip (Oh and the food was bad too)
All that did contribute to my heart problems (no more cruises)

Thats nice to know.
You are right this is the second time they have messed with the old pumper.
The first time I was in A-Fib too but it was causing high blood pressure so they hit me with the paddles to restart the heart.

Next is a pace maker.

Hmmm, if they give you a pace maker, can you get a turbo setting when you need to get something done?

Cruise was a disaster. Cruise companies have become used to making so much money they seem to be falling off on quality. Bad food on a cruise.:scared: Our last cruise the food was not too good after the first day.

Maybe we just had an old ship. The tours were very interesting and We even ran into a hotrod tour in peggys cove Nova Scotia

You want me to order a hotrod pacemaker !!!

Take care of your health. Put out a request if you need any help. Many of us live pretty close to you.

Thats very kind of you lieutenant
How close are you and why haven't we met up yet??

Don, all I can say is to reiterate what has already been said and that is take care:thumbup:

Well I hope they gave you a credit or a free trip (but on different boat).
Definitely take care. I'm sure there's plenty GJ friends that would gladly help out if they could.

Don, they haven't been that invasive (yet). This is a somewhat new problem added to all the old problems. On 3rd of July, I had been feeling rally bad, more than usual. I stayed in bed for several days and still no energy, About 2:30am got up to go p before trying to go to sleep. Got up and walked about 10ft and had a sharp pain go down my back and left leg, it hurt so bad I started feeling nauseated. Then boom, I passed out and feel backwards and hit the door frame and hit my right arm and tail bone area. The wife was pretty excited, so I told her to quite down for a minute so I can figure out what all took place. Well I went to the ER and they took x-rays and all was OK. Then they noticed my heart beats were around 166bpm. So they sent me to the heart hospital. Put an I V and after a few hours it went back to normal. Spent 5 days in that time. So last week was out messing around in the barn and was sweating like a fish. Went in the house and put my blood pressure cuff on and my heartbeats were up to 175bpm. Called the Dr and he said go to the heart hospital. So they did all the same thing and it went back to normal. My problem is I don't notice it when the heart goes into A-fib, so they changed some meds and putting me on a monitor to see whats causing it. Not to the extreme you went thru yet, just meds for now. Sorry I took so much space on your spot here. Hope it fixed your a-fib.
Guess we need to be more aware of the Heartbeat's of America (Chevrolet) logo. Take care my friend!

Hi Shorty
They took care of all ship charges and since we had so much time out of our suite we spent plenty of time in the casino and it payed off this time. We returned home with more money than we left with.
I do truely enjoy the friendship of all the G.J.guys

Don, I am thinking of you, all the BEST to you my friend!!

Thanks Hugo
I read where your wife is doing much better. I think that's great

Wow Herb
Thanks for filling me in on your issues. It all sounds familiar.
I had been suffering from being dizzy most of each day back in January.
I thought that I was suffering from a case of Vertigo again (had it last year)
I went to have a 1 year check up on my last heart procedure and mentioned
That I didn't feel to good and was always dizzy. He suggested that I wear a heart monitor for 2 weeks and report back after . Well I went to the river and rebuilt my dock in 115 degree heat. My monitor fell off after 5 days. The Doc called and told me that my heart goes in and out of A-Fib all day long. So we scheduled the procedure after the cruise.

Hey Bears fan
I was over looking at all the neat new stuff you are displaying (Great)
Thanks for dropping in this morning.
I'm going crazy sitting on my thumbs while I have soo much to do out in the garage. We have a wedding scheduled for this Saturday afternoon and the garage is all torn up with the changes being made for the ice cream parlor.
All will be OK.
Johnny Rocket is an Ice cream parlor franchise in So Cal.
I had the neon pulled off the big Coca cola sign yesterday while I operated my fork lift, lifting the sign guy up and down. So I'm still getting things done.

Hi Don,

I read up on your activities every week, but don't comment (as I suspect a lot of people do). But, I just wanted to jump in and wish you well. I had a heart scare back in '08 so I know what an impact it can have on your life. Stay positive and rest when needed. We like you a lot around here.

Best,

I'm not one to dwell on bad stuff or set backs that's for sure.
I had a great day directing a couple of friends that dropped by today and we got a lot done (party garage is looking much better tonite)

It's nice knowing that there are silent guys staying up with my madness.
But it's more fun hearing from you from time to time so feel free to chime in often.
I am taking it a little slower than before.

Hi Homebody

The further into the past the bad events get I find it easier to find the good in the experiences.
I'm quite excited to get the ice cream parlor presentable.

ALL
I want to thank you for the kind and encouraging thoughts that have been expressed over the past week.
I feel better today than yesterday and yesterday I felt better than the day before so time will surely heal my condition and I look forward to sharing my party garage fun with you some more

are those bullet holes in the Sprite boys arm? Must be involved in some of the earlier drive bys?
On the rocket, was that originally a drop tank before becoming what it is now?
Put the Coca Cola hat on Coops avatar and he could be a brother to Sprite boy?

That is some rocket.

My guess is it was a part of the original sign. But the more I look at it, it has control surfaces so it must have been a flyable drone or missile.

Where do you find these things ? A Rocket! Now there must be a good story behind that as to how you came across it and what it was meant to be used for as well as what plans you have for it now.

HOTFR8

It is an interesting story. Back in the fall of 2015 I found a vintage compressor on C/L
I posted on it here on pg 112 post 2233
https://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=153099&page=112/2233
Since that day I have stayed in touch with this guy. Most of the brass stuff and old tools are things I have bought from this guy.
His story is worth telling
He is a 4 time purple heart survivor from Vietnam. After the war he went into being a stuntman for the movies he also took up deep sea treasure hunting and was very successful at it. He also went into gold mining and had 3 gold mines over time.
For 50 years he always had an eye for anything made of brass and would buy it where ever in the world he might be. Being an old miner he collected everything vintage he could find from early mining days. He never missed an estate sale, yard sale, or auction where ever he was and he always had a pocket full on cash (never married)
His luck turned about 15 years ago and he put all his stuff in storage.
We were having dinner together for his birthday when I was impressed to ask him if he would consider the opportunity of putting a bunch of his treasures on display in my garage and move over to the barn (out of an OLD motorhome parked in an industrial parking lot)
I added that when we had guests over he could join in an share his knowledge about all the interesting pieces of history on display.
He now lives in my back yard in the barn. He has 2 40' containers, 1 20' container and 4 35' tractor trailers filled to the ceiling along with 10 4'x4'x4' storage tubs full of brass and tools and hardware. There is also 4 3'x8'x6' wood creates full of wagons, pedal cars, bicycles, tricycles and scooters from the 20s to the 50s at another friends place.
And he had the rocket. It was a mock up unit that he got from the military.
(never had a power plant in it)
I plan on painting it up special and hanging it from the ceiling over the ice cream parlor
IT is always a fun surprise going treasure hunting with my friend.

Pretty cool find there Don. Is it a target drone?

No Coop
Just a model

are those bullet holes in the Sprite boys arm? Must be involved in some of the earlier drive bys?

Put the Coca Cola hat on Coops avatar and he could be a brother to Sprite boy?

NO Herb

It is a piece of neon that looks like a 5 for 5 cent drink

Don now has a rocket...well things with the cruise line escalated quickly now didn't they.
JB

JB

Do you think they will consider a refund now lol

I was wondering the same thing? It looks a bit like an early cruise missile or maybe an unused target drone or training model? Very cool.
Glad to hear you are feeling better.

Thanks rmalkow
It is made of tin and plastic but looks very cool

It was military but I don't know of its purpose. Its just a great conversation piece. Who else has a rocket hanging around??
