To make a long story short, I broke a spark plug in half, in my fine 3v Triton V8. All that's left is the electrode shield and the porcelain inside. Tried the Lisle tool and it failed to extract it. Called Lisle for other options and one of their engineers called me back at 9pm on Friday night to see if I had it out.
He advised me to use a die grinder with a Burr ball bit on it to grind out some of the porcelain so that the electrode shield could be tapped. A piece of the tool may have broken off inside as well. So a burr ball bit would go through that as well. Fine no problem there. Easy peasy.
Go to Lowes no electric die grinders. Ask if they have Burr bits. Shrug. Go to Home Depot no electric die grinders. Guy working the tool section didn't know what a die grinder or burr bit is. Live in the NE no Northern Tool.
My air compressor is too small to effectively run a pneumatic one. Can't use my truck until it's out. Can't get an appointment at the dealership until Wednesday.
I can get Burr bits at Grainger or Fastenal on Tuesday. .
Does anyone know where an electric die grinder and carbide burr bits can be acquired on a Sunday? Need to get some food soon. Lol Wednesday is a long way off.
Thanks for any suggestions! Myself and my cat would appreciate it if we have food.
