So I've go these new pimped-out chromed casters to go on my KRL1001. They have a lever lock that bears against the side of the wheel at the axle, whereas the old Faultless casters locked against the outside of the wheel.
On one the lever action is super stiff, takes 100+ lbs to get it all the way down and I use a board to lever it back up, action on the other is more reasonable.
Unfortunately, neither lock worth a darn, can easily push the box around with both locked.
It looks like I could tighten the outside nuts, but I think that'll just make the action stiffer, seems more like I need an extra washer between the locking mechanism and the wheel.
Anyway, they are closed today so I turn to all ya'll for expert counsel.
Thanks
Jim
Edit: on the stiff one activating the brake turns the axle and nut on the opposite side of the wheel, on the other it does not.
