YIKES!!! I'll give ya $60. !! Quick flip ??!!

:lol_hitti

I posted these photos on the Garage Sale thread. I picked it up an hour away from home in a Walmart parking lot. I put the seller to work loading it for me as I had shoulder surgery this past Friday. Now the box has to sit in the back seat of the Camry until I can get help unloading.

This belongs to a friend, I am sorting through the contents to see what may be of value, and evaluating the box itself too. The box is pretty used, but is still cool. The drawers have metal runners that fit into metal slides on the sides of the box. Can't find a part number.

Looks to be an early version of the model 520, but I'm not sure if that is what they called them when that was made.

You could always email Kennedy, not sure how they are about sharing information, but some of the other smaller companies like Hout like to help with identification of their older boxes.

Here are a few I picked up recently (all are for sale, send PM if interested). I really have a thing for the older Craftsman with the Crown Logos. I also have a cool Craftsman Rally Box that I picked up at an estate sale that now sits on top of the tool chest in the garage. I'll see if I can dig up a picture of that.

And a photo of the Craftsman Rally Box that I picked up... not sure if it is vintage yet, but I thought it was pretty cool :)

I had a good day today, bumbling around.

I found this tool box with a few odds and ends in it at an estate sale. At the same place I found a vintage 1955-1959 Craftsman metal lathe, the small hobby size. And I found a saw tooth flattening file jig. All new to me in the wild. All came home with me.

Here's the tool cabinet, one of the first Snap-On made. This one included the drawer cover and the cabinet key. I'll have to fabricate one of the cover hold down tab's. And one 1/4" bolt / square nut needs to be replaced

Yes sir, here is the thread on the find. Mine may be a couple years newer but same exact style really.

Same logo on the front cover. Yours came with a lot more tools. Only Snap-On in mine was a 9/16" socket (brazed to a weird fabbed up "X" and a set of vacuum grip pliers. There were a couple of bonney thin DOEs and a 7/16" drive nuggie.

I figure this was 37 or 38 vintage. The '36 catalog didn't offer the cabinet panels yet, and by '39 the legs angled away from the box a couple of inches. So probably late 30's manufacturer.

Congrats on a fantastic find! I don't collect Snap-On, but if I ever found one of these it most certainly would come home with me!

Very nice box! If the paint is smooth and not a rough wrinkle find you can use a car paint buffer to lightly buff the paint . I have used a medium polish on a few boxes with some good results ! Make sure not to over do the polish as it will look odd with shiny paint and dents and rust !
