Looks like everything is all ready for the snow event. How reliable is your power?

We lose it a few times a year. Usually when it's an ice storm it goes out for a few days. This is just a few inches of snow, it will be a normal day. Nobody gets really worried about snow here unless it's over a foot, even then we still just plow out and go to work. It takes 2 feet to shut things down.

I've got a propane heater for power outages and have been using a power inverter for power, I just leave a car running. I really should get a generator.

I haven't updated this in forever. Not a lot has gone on with the garage in the last 2 years. I did just get a lift. It's an Autolifters 2 post floor plate 9k. It just fits under the trusses. I got it for $1000 used. It looks new still. It was easy to install. I can get a car about 4 feet up on it.

I sold the Subaru and got a 66 Chevelle. That's it up on the lift. I did a whole pro touring style suspension. I put in a 454 with FiTech fuel injection and a Tremec TKO 600 5 speed. It's a fun car, not real fast but a nice cruiser.

I'm thinking of doing some more work on the garage in the spring. It probably is going to be a full time working garage soon. I've applied to the town for zoning approval to have a used car lot on my property and the garage will be the shop. It looks good as far as zoning approval. I might raise the trusses up 4 feet so cars can go up higher on the lift. I'm probably going to insulate and put up osb on the interior walls. I guess I should coat the floor too if it going to be in use a lot for messy work now to preserve it.

12 foot sidewalls and a back door. I don't like walking all the way around to get things out of the old garage that is now a storage shed. Now with the lift in I want the 12 foot walls even more. I might remedy both problems next summer.

No going to leave the job. There were just major cuts announced in Ford warranty labor times and to me, it's not possible to make enough money. The dealer group I work for are good people and have treated me well, but already they also have Chrysler with too low warranty times and Chrysler doesn't pay diagnosis at all. Now with Ford cutting times, it'd just not worth it anymore. I used to flip used cars before I had this job and made more money. Heck I made more money 20 years ago working at a Chevy dealer than I do now.
