It's like this with everything. When something new comes out, it's not always tested or engineered like it should be. Sometimes it's a good idea that simply can't work due to the available technology at the time. Here's where I'm headed:
Automatic transmission's were, for the most part, were junk when they first became available. They're just about bullet proof these days. Better materials, better fluid, better technology. Ratchets are no different.
I was taught to use a breaker bar on really tight stuff, a coarse ratchet on tight stuff, and a fine tooth for limited access applications. After owning my FLF80(early model with USA stamped on it

) for several years now and not being able to hurt it, I'm sold on the Snap-ons. I now own 5 Dual80's in various trim and a couple of T72's. The S80's are next on my list, although I can honestly say my old ones(SF936, SF832, SL711, __71) have never given me any trouble, but it would be nice to have a higher tooth count sometimes.
