Where did you find a planer? Those are rare!

Yep. They go for over a hundred bucks on eBay. A number of the tools do.

Edit: Was just looking at sold auctions on eBay. Is it really possible that a new shop vac is selling for over a thousand dollars?? One sold for $1.5K. Seems crazy. The one handed reciprocating saw is going for over close or at 200. Many tools are fetching insane bucks, especially the miter saw.

The C3 tools are commanding a premium on eBay. That's why I think it makes sense to switch out to something like fuel. You can sell your old tools and make enough to buy new fuel tools. I don't think the 1.5k for the vac is legit. I just sold one for 150 which is a little less than they go for.

Showed up on Craigslist yesterday. $75 for the planer, stapler, hand vac, flashlight, multi charger and 3 nicads. Just got home with them... A little used and dirty but not destroyed.

So is there any way to fix/protect that rubber coating from flaking off everywhere?
I hate that stuff and it covers all the older 19.2v tools.

There are a few that sell for good money but the common tools are hard to even give away. Now the nextec line would be much easier to swap for m12 for sure. Maybe by spring the c3 will be worth enough to swap out once they are completely discontinued.

Got the dust bag, blade wrench and a new belt ordered. Wish they had the handle housing available or the spring clip for the stapler.

I'm still hoping the line gets revived by SBD.

Sure. There has to be something I could rub or spray on there to stop the flaking and protect the grip.

What about that Back to Black stuff that's used to restore (temporarily) black plastic on cars? I've seen people do amazing things with a heat gun. It burns off all the porous stuff and exposes the fresh plastic.

Thanks! Back to black might hide some of the scuffs in the plastic (for a little while) but that isn't really an issue for me. The rubber coating could be heated up i suppose and maybe it would rejuvenate it somewhat. Not really looking to take it completely off yet until I try a few things.

Looks like they discontinued the C3 Bluetooth radio. It’s one of the few things I have left, what are they going for? Probably gonna end up selling mine.

That's what I did, but mostly through Craigslist. Had about 30 C3 tools, many I never really used. Sold all of them and bought just the Milwaukee tools that I actually use, and money left over. Didn't get a lot for stuff like the drill or angle saws, but stuff like the buffer and chemical sprayer I got quite a bit for.

I don't think the appeal for C3 is common, more like a few guys on ebay with too much money, but ebay prices seep into Craigslist prices, and to a lesser extent garage sale prices.

What could kill all the old cordless values is a legit standard for battery packs across brands, but that may never happen.

I haven't had that issue, is there something unusual about your environment that might be causing it?

I guess you could coat it with PlastiDip or something similar.

Searspartsdirect.com MAY have some extra parts. If you dont see it online try clicking on the chat box and asking the customer service rep for help.

I've never heard of the plastic flaking... But maybe some sort of automotive product like Armor All or similar for plastic or tires will work???

Take some pics of that hand planer, I've only seen a couple stock photos on the internet, never any detailed pics of it!

You ****!

I have 4 of those trimmers right now, my 4 year old user, a never used, like new one about 3 years old I bought as part of a blower, trimmer, big lithium battery and charger combo, another nice one about 2 months ago mostly to get the big lithium battery for $25 total and now this one for $5 without a battery! Wonder if I have any of the boxes in my attic still?

At the prices these are going for I should sell the extra 3 and use the money for a 40 volt trimmer and blower system.

I live only a couple of miles from where this is located. I had considered checking out this listing, but it’s been listed for months and thus seems a bit fishy to me. It should have sold long ago! Then again, maybe the seller has multiple to sell, but if so, why? I’ve still decided to pass on this seller. Probably my loss!

Website shows discontinued but I guess it wouldn't hurt to check. The housing was only $8 or so.

It's not plastic, its a rubbery coating they put over the handle. Look through the older 19.2v auctions on ebay and you see a lot of the tools have this stuff peeling off. The old drills especially since they are used often.

I'll get some pics of the planer in a few. These are phone pics in low light but not too bad.

And... all the parts I ordered for the planer are on "backorder". They did say 1/15 ish for delivery when I ordered so hopefully they are coming. Maybe they had to do that so they could ship out the one regular, non part item I ordered to get over $50.

Thinking about trading for the caulk gun if anyone is interested pm.

Got all the parts today except the replacement screws for the blade lockdown plate.
Should be easy enough to find something at ace if I need to. So now I have a complete planer with edge guide, hex wrench, dust bag, extra blade set and replacement belt.

Of course sears parts still shows everything I just received on backorder.

Check out my classified ad for some C3 stuff.
The 3/8 drill was only used once or twice. The half inch drill and the trim saw a bit more than that, the impact driver saw lots of use but still hits hard. Five batteries won’t hold a charge.

Forgot to mention with my parts order I got a replacement Jacobs chuck for the hammer drill. Put it on the basic drill with plastic chuck and it works great.

Reading the Craftsman / Lowe's thread it doesn't look like it, at least not in it's current form. The current C3 line is from Ryobi which obviously will not continue under Stanley.

My guess is they will make a new 20v line a step below Dewalt and step above Black and Decker. Then make a million different tools like Ryobi does to compete. Hopefully not following Sears tradition of discontinuing them a year after launch.

They could easily bring back the bolt on line if they wanted to with the exclusive Craftsman attachments and maybe add a few more. There was also the 20v Craftsman professional line but I have no idea who made those... If it was stanley then maybe thats how they will start out.

Sears had lots of companies making their tools, and even though TTI made the C3 line for Sears, who's to say that Sears doesn't own the rights to the battery connection configuration? The new tools may not look exactly the same, but if they maintain the same battery connections, we're good.

I'm searching for the remote controlled truck

I have a truck.
Unfortunately the electronics have an issue.
I’ve considered replacing the electronics with of the self components but I have yet to find the time.
I can’t decide if I should spend the time etc or just let it go.
