As a follow-up to my earlier thread

https://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=378447

The flooring contractor started grinding on my 30x40 garage floor, 5 inches thick and 5000psi. Two guys started grinding last Monday, thought they would be done mid-day Tuesday. They were still at it 7pm Tuesday evening and were coming back Wednesday to finish up. The lead man said they had never run into a slab this hard to grind, said whoever poured it had done a great job. Due to the weather and road conditions in Michigan they asked if they could put off the coating install until Monday, glad they did the roads were real bad in West Michigan today. Three installers will be back Monday to install the full chip.

The photo is from Tuesday night. I'll post a photo of the final grinding tomorrow after I plow my way to the house. I'll post the finished job next week.

Hopefully they can lay down the Polyaspartic tomorrow and I can start moving in.

Floor finished Monday, three installers 8:30-5:30 for 1200 sq feet. Floor looks great, I'm pleased. Installer was Slide-Lok of Grand Rapids (John). I called his references and they were pleased with his work, probably not surprising but all three were very complimentary of his crew and their attention to detail. I also through my builder was able to see a floor he did about ago 18 months ago - looked good. If anybody wants more finished photos let me know and I take some more.

Floor looks great!

How much per square foot did they charge if you don't mind me asking?
I need to do the same thing, I have 3600 square feet and I'm trying to see if I can afford it?

You can PM me if you want instead of posting?

Thanks,

Kevin

Cost was $4.50 a square foot for 1131 sq feet. I would think the price goes down as the size goes up. PM me if you want their contact information.

Thanks Dave for the reply!

I don’t need the contact info, definitely out of my price range, oh well!
