two or three years ago, i took advantage of an offer amazon was making where if you agreed to accept slower shipping, you could get a 1$ credit for ebooks, downloadable music, or downloadable videos. when they first started offing this, it was on a per order basis. i quickly started separating my multi-item orders into separate orders (prime member), so that i could get 1$ per item. as this started around October, i ended up with some insane amount of credit (i have five kids, and it was the lead up to christmas), and downloaded several books and a bunch of music for free.

well, they are offering it again. notice on this screenshot that there is a discussion of the option at the top, right above the order summary, and an option on the right hand side for selecting "No Rush" shipping. this time, they are offering it on a per item basis in the order, so you can get what you need quickly, and wait on other items.

while you may not download ebooks or music, others in your household might be interested. usually, i am more interested in free shipping than 2 day delivery.

It's well known... Amazon is my go-to for everything. I almost always get offered the NO RUSH option... it cycles it's offers... $1 off digital, $5 off fresh, etc. I often take advantage of the $1 off digital items... I buy a lot of movies and tv series... sadly I only take advantage of that offer once or twice a month.

delivery.

I nearly always get offered an option for something, in exchange for slow shipping. A dollar off digital, $5 prime now, $X off amazon home services, etc. I never take any of them except the digital stuff, because I won't use them.

It appears you get an offer per set of things amazon was planning on shipping separately. So if it's all in the same warehouse, you get one, if it's mulitple, you'll get multiple. Sometimes it's not even the same offer.

I placed several orders the saturday before Christmas (the 23rd) last year, and took the offer, because it was all stuff for me, and I didn't care when it came. (and there was no way to get it the next day, even if I had been trying to get it before christmas. it all arrived at 3pm Christmas eve, in the same box as something that was supposed to be delivered that day.

I noticed that HJE has labeled the PEC machinist squares as made in India now. I swear when I bought mine they claimed it was USA. The square isn't stamped USA anywhere on it, so maybe their old USA COO claim was incorrect, and maybe the ones on eBay are not USA either.

In contrast, the PEC double squares are stamped USA on the ruler.

Answers like these are why we need a "like" button!

Only if we get a "dislike" and a "You ****!" button as well

As for back on off-topic: Got my hammers :banhim:

Seriously though. I'd post stuff on here as well, but I usually buy them. If I don't buy them, I think they're not such a good deal :lol_hitti

My local HD has these on clearance for $68.03 IIRC, along with a TON of low voltage lighting stuff 75% off... I guess nobody wants to do hard-wired lights outside anymore...

Need to add some outdoor lighting to the casa or show off that new shop?

CRC Food Grade Air Tool Oil, 5 Gallon Pail, Clear, 5 GALLONS!!! for $60.33

https://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B0098O0WUC/ref=dp_olp_all_mbc?ie=UTF8&condition=all

I had bought one previously (used as well). It's fully sealed and undamaged. The thing is I think one or two pails were destroyed and they clearanced out the rest of the pallet due to the leak. Minor yellowing stain on the pail I got.

I haven't opened it yet though. Got a cheap pump from HF and haven't bothered to clean that yet (metal shards and other **** need to be flushed out of the pump).
