Yesterday I finished dismantling my parts car and brought a bunch if parts into the garage, which I have no room for. This morning I took the car off the jackstands and brought the jackstands back in the garage. The car is sitting on its frame in the driveway. I have someone coming hopefully today to pick it up and haul it off to the scrapyard.

Attempted a built in planter box for the deck that the gf wants..... needless to say one too many beers and a hammer to make it slide in turned out to be a failure in my mind.

Redesigned it and will attempt it all again when on days off. Have 4 of them to build then a barn style gate to keep the bulldog off the fire pit part of the deck.

Haha! I had that happen to me last wknd. I was adding some lighting to our basement storage area (side bar, the previous owners went 30 years using a single light bulb to light a 15' long L shaped storage area...WHO DOES THAT!!). Anywho, I finished up around 11:30pm and had more then a 6'er in me, when the wife comes down to tell me our washing machine wasn't working.

After a bit of thinking I determined it was the waste water pump, and we tore into it. It came out just fine, but do you think I could remember where all those dumb little screws went the next day? :headscrat

I'm draining the gas from the snow blower and putting away. Don't care if it snows one last time, if 4 wheel drive can't get me out the driveway I'll just stay home till it melts.

Removed the steering wheel from the shaft on the Spitfire. Nice leather wrapped OE wheel with banjo spokes. The aluminum hub was crusty and nasty. Spent time with various grades of sandpaper to remove the paint and cruft, got it smooth and nice again. Primed and painted it. The leather wrap, while dried out was in good shape otherwise. Had some paint on it and scuffs, but enough effort with cleaners and I got it back to good condition. Now I'll need to find some appropriate thread to resew the cover back onto the wheel.

Moving enormous amounts of steel, loaded pallet racking, equipment and things I have no room to put anywhere and constantly tripping over all of it so I can build a separation wall in my main work area that has turned into a loft design now that's creating concerns for the need of a beam or not all so we can have a little more storage but thankfully I have couple of back pills waiting for me tonight. :) While I'm waiting on those to take effect in front the TV, somewhere in the back of my haze I'll be reminiscing on the improper use of of run-on sentences.

Drilled out the set screw on my 3/8 hex socket, hex bit bit kept falling out. Found another set screw and fixed it, might stick out a bit- but I don't care.

Installed a pressure relief valve and a gauge for tank pressure on my find on craigslist for $19.00 !! Compressor runs great ! I couldn't pass it up !

Pressure switch and gauges were missing, or broken off when I got it.

Went outside the barn and sat in the sun out of the wind and had a beer.

Pull that set screw out and grind down till it fits. That is a easy way to get your fingers cut or scratch something you didn't want scratched. Just saying, play it safe.

Built some drawers for under my workbench. Drawers run in a 1/4" dado. No drawer slide hardware. Cheap and sturdy - perfect for the garage. Before/after pics.

PassnThru & BadEyeBill - thanks for the compliments.

BadEyeBill - I dont need a vise often and would rather have the workbench top free of the obstruction. So my vise is mounted on some scrap 3/4" ply and when I need it I put it up on the bench top and clamp it down with some squuze clamps. Works like a charm.

A bit more... the drawers are modular. The dados were cut every 2 inches. It gives me drawers of 2", 4", and 6". Best part is that they are all interchangeable.

Will you be waxing the guides to help lubricate them? Wood on wood tends to bind and jam when it swells with temp changes.

I was looking at that holder but thought it was a bit expensive...what was wrong with the original design that you had to "fix it?"

Just happy I didn't buy one after reading your post.

I walked into the garage and noticed the display on my bookshelf JVC stereo system was not displaying...anything.
Tried to turn it on, no work...checked the plug, getting voltage...hmmm.
Well, unplugged all the speakers, antenna, and aux jacks, and brought it over to the bench.
First time this unit ever failed to power up so I popped the cover...

Checking the power board the cord goes to I see fuses! You would think they would have a external fuse holder, but no...

Sure looked like a blown fuse. Pulled it and sure enough, Blown!
How did that happen?
It wasn't running when the fuse blew!
And good luck finding a mini glass fuse.
So I go to my fuse drawer, none, check my misc drawer, nope...checked here, there...I only have the longer regular glass fuses.
Check the fuse drawer again and hey...what are these? MINI FUSES!!!!!
How did I miss them?!?!
Whoopie! And the right amps too!
Wow, my lucky day!

Put the fuse in, tested the unit and it works!
Put it all back together and no problems since however....
I did have a bad speaker in one corner of the room and I was trying to make the time to get to it...could have been the cause, I suppose.
So I fixed the speaker cabinet by replacing the speaker with one from my truck.
Sounds better than it ever did now...

So while listening to my tunes I started working on putting back my remote controlled retractable licence plate frame on my Mustang now that I got my pony back from the paint shop...reinstall the unit and it works great!

You can get one for your vehicle at... https://www.blueovalindustries.com/xt3200e.html

While working on my licence plate holder I noticed some cooling fluid dots on some of my the engine bay components and the engine timing sensor....looks like my pump is starting to weep...may have to replace my cooling pump...better see how much for a new once and replace it before it dies.

The best way I can describe the fitment of the HF glove boxes and the HF glove box holder is hot dog down a hallway. It was cheap so I didn’t mind cutting it up. All I had to do was cut it down the middle, narrow it 1-1/8” and rivet it back together. Nothing against the design as they are also marketed as a tissue box holder or you could say “one size fits all”, I just made it work better for what i wanted it to hold.

Why do you need that?

Because it is cool, and for car shows.

So not for the tollways.......riigghhtttt

Jim's is spot on...car looks better without the plate while at car shows.
Anyone can buy one for their vehicle at... https://www.blueovalindustries.com/xt3200e.html

Beags...I have an "I pass" transponder so tolls aren't an issue....but those pesky red light cameras that malfunction can be a PITA.
Unfortunately, my rear plate is fixed.
Why two plates in Illinois when all of Indiana requires only a rear plate?
Hope Illinois stops requiring front plates....they are talking about it.
I know the police are not enforcing the front plate law as mine is usually in the retracted position 24/7.
If I get stopped (almost never) I can press a button on a key fob and the licence plate deploys. :lol_hitti

Getting back to the thread topic...
...while driving home from the paint shop yesterday, I notice a slight coolant smell.
So I opened the hood and checked the coolant pump to see where a small leak was coming from.
Removed the intake assembly and accessory drive belt.
https://scontent-dfw5-1.**.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/29510967_2185617621464771_4538353509845674939_n.jpg?_nc_cat=0&oh=3c0fff40cd3b06111717cd43af33ff04&oe=5B38A5C2

Pump shaft seal looked fine.
Plastic thermostat housing looks good.
Looks like less than a shot glass dripped out of the cooling system as a few small white dots that look like calcium sprayed parallel to the fan belt assembly.
Coming off the housing gasket (left side) under the alternator...some telltales on timing sensor connector!!! :wtf:
https://scontent-dfw5-1.**.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/29542529_2185617664798100_7397219861862220046_n.jpg?_nc_cat=0&oh=78ce937d8bdcae49c30210a501259060&oe=5B2FC09A

Found housing bolts could be turned a full turn or less on most of the pump housing flange bolts holding the gasket tight to the engine block.
https://scontent-dfw5-1.**.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/29512836_2185617584798108_550505663523744102_n.jpg?_nc_cat=0&oh=4158527145ee700ea42000d3ca4549a4&oe=5B3469E0
Dealer had car and replaced hoses, radiator and AC condenser after front end damage back in December.
Guessing they might have replaced pump or it got loose replacing hoses and repairing associated components.
I tightened the housing bolts careful not to not strip the block threads. Calling it good.
If I still see a leak, will have to change the pump and gasket....crossing fingers at 84,000 miles.

Got the Mustang out from winter storage, gave it a wash and checked tire pressures, etc. Gone fill it up with gas yet today and start driving again weather permitting.
Also got a total of five vehicles washed with the pressure washer and swept out the garage.

Changed brake pads rotors and added caliper covers on my CTS. Waiting on rims to come in.

Not sure about the caliper covers but will see. Picture (caliper) was before I adjusted it.

Went out and warmed it up, moved 10 things around, sat down to figure out where to install new heater, gouty foot bugged me more than anticipated, went back inside :-(
