The Daytona jack isn’t anything spectacular, it uses the same hydraulic core unit as the regular 3 ton unit, the only differences are 2 magnets thrown in the reservoir and the pump cylinders utilize Ucups versus Oring/backup and some different frame work, Oh.... And it’s Yellow. Lol
I do have concerns with the cartridge valve system, and even with the small sample size of GJ I have fielded no less than 10 emails/pm’s regarding missed strokes and poor performance, both are by products of Air entering the valve system. The Oring/shell on the Main Ram is a blatant attempt for HF to limit the longevity of the jack, Why go to extremes to market it as a professional jack and then skimp (pennies) on the Main Ram seal.. Silly.
The positive... it has a good warranty and HF’s are readily available in most big cities, Every person who has contacted me has been instructed to utilize that warranty versus try and fix the problem. The issue with the cartridge valves is that not only do you have to make sure the tiny balls are seating, you have to deal with sealing both ends of the cartridge itself.
When I’m asked about my opinion of the jack, I’m going to be honest based off my experience of the individual components. I don’t care about the stickers/color scheme etc, that’s all marketing fluff. My dislike for the internals obviously doesn’t means the jack isn’t capable of lifting a load safely and the as ive already stated... the 3 year warranty is marketable. I say that because most valve issues show there weakness early on, versus down the road as long as the oil is kept clean of contaminates.
