Ya the amount of lumen is relative to what your doing for sure ...I mean when your in the dark almost any light is good
I find the 2364 M12 rover light to quite satisfactory for many things 1000L I believe I think it works great as an under hood light. But on the other hand a small worklight like the basic M18 swivel head stick light can be ok under vehicle too go figure. I know most all these are usless around my Harley there is just waay too much reflection with the Chrome and or polished parts.
I felt my stand light @ 2000l didn't quite match up with brightness to using a Halogon worklight for interior work and I'm thinking the Rocket 2 might be better yet. But having either light to use is just so much nicer without the inherent heat problems, bulb breakage and just the freedom of having no cord.
Outside it is like having field lights for some of my farm oriented work. And field setup of my plant sales after dark (I could really use a second tripod for that too) and for evening setups under my flea mkt tool tent the old fluorescent lanterns work ok but I think maybe I want a long LED underhood light. The rover more than enough for to see in my trailer
